Does anyone need a CAMS approved fire extinguisher bracket for Philip Island?

CAMS scrutineers are currently cracking down on poorly mounted extinguishers. This bracket has recently passed CAMS scrutineering at Sandown and the comment made was “that’s what I like to see, nuts and bolts”

Because i couldnt find any for sale i developed my own and have had a few extras made. these are for sale $90 ea to cover some of my costs and time.

Suits R33 & R34 GTR and should also fit non GTR?

I have M6 high tensile bolts and nuts so will included these.

you can get cams approved extinguishers from bunnings with the bracket included for like $30.

i think the cams rule update was that they needed to be bolted and not screwed in.

im sure someone will correct me if im wrong.

You will need to use this bracket to mount the one included with the extinguisher that you buy. Not sure about the Bunnings extinguishers. CAMS required at least one metal clip to hold it in place.

a picture etc....

holy shit, that looks awesome! nice design. ill have a look tonight at my one but yeh it comes with a bracket which has two metal clips.. but mines not bolted, just screwed in, mines not being tracked, its there as a just in case thing.

Thanks for that, I see you have the M35 Stagea, nice car!

Even if your not tracking your car you dont want it come loose in an accident! CAMS schedule H says the bracket must withstand a deceleration of 25G so if the extinguisher weighs 5 kg? then thats 125kgs of force. I havent tested this (and hope i never do) but am very confident it would be fine because it is solid as a rock. anyway the bracket that comes with the extiguisher will give before my seat bracket does.

hey you made me think, it may fit older Stageas. arent they based on the R33 Platform? does anyone know if you can bolt R33/34 seats stright into a stagea?

thanks man!

yeh i havnt checked either lol i think theres a screw in each hole which is like 8 screws all up, so its no moving!

yeh the c34 stageas im pretty sure are interchangeable with the R33. maybe post in the stagea forsale thread.. a few of em track so it may be worthy!

i need a new spot so if you make em for the v35's, ide be interested!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
