The "EDGE" R33 Skyline GTS25t has been out since 1999 at least, made by ****PIT TATEBAYASHI (GODDAM IT! I've been vBulletined!!)... it's still doing the rounds at the car shows, me and the SAU boys from Sydney saw this one at this years Tokyo Auto Salon. AFAIK, the kit has been copied and is sold in Australia already? Can someone clarify this?

Yeah Rezz, the first time i saw the car in one of the pics you took in your photo thread  Can you tell me a little bit about C0ckpit Tatebayashi as i can't read japanese on their webpage? I can barely find any info on the car or kit on the web, only on the Official C0ckpit website. Are they popular in Japan? Do they manufacter parts or do they just sell and tune stuff? In the Gts special issue of HPI there is a ecr33 with the kit that was imported.

About C0ckpit Tatebayashi: C0ckpit stores are just your regular "Bob Jane T-Mart" type wheel, tire and tune up place, but Tatebayashi (and others) have complete "turbo tune-up menus", where you can drive your S14 in, and 2 days later, have a 450hp monster on your hands, with a complete set of coil-overs and 18" wheels and tires too. So they do almost the same job as a regular Tuning workshop... I say almost, because the emphasis (and where they make most of their money) is in the wheel and tire business.

I'd go to C0ckpit if I didn't have any contacts with a regular tuning workshop (ie: C-West ) as they do the complete job in-house, and you can just choose a "tune-up package", you don't have to know what every part does.

About the "EDGE" bodykit: Sorry, my bad, I said before that C0ckpit Tatebayashi produced the "EDGE" bodykit... well they don't. The bodykit is produced by Emotion R, and is quite expensive compared to similar looking front bumpers by BoMex

Heres the EDGE front bumper for 79,000 yen (A$992):

...and the BoMex BM Type II front bumper for 30,500 yen (A$383):

I know which one I'd buy!

So C0ckpit Tatebayashi don't manufacture kits as such, but use other brands. I wouldn't say the EDGE kit is common (hence the price!) but they are made to the highest standards as is usual with the low volume Japanese brands. I guess try and go for a cheap EDGE knock-off, or the BoMex...

Thats pretty exy for just the front bumper! I have thought about going for the Bomex as it is similar, however I like the Edge much better. I dunno why but it appeals to me. There are also many more Bomex's around, which i guess is attributed to it's availability and price and good looks. I'm gonna have to do more searching to find a cheap knock off if one's available.

Thanks Rezz.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
