Tried to search, found absolutely nothing down.gif

I have an R32 GTS25. I have fabricated a 2.5 exhaust to go from the exhaust manifold all the way to the end. At the moment it is just straight pipe. Obviously it will be too loud as is.

I am thinking about having one Coby Resonator in the middle. Then a RPS Cannon muffler at the back.

My question is wil this muffle the sound a fair amount? and will it reduce the sound of the ugly fart cannon sound N/A skylines have?

Also do the angles of the pipes make much difference to the sound? Because there is a skyline who lives around me and he has the same system i described and i want it to sound the same as that. But i dont want to have to get his car to compare and have exactly the same laugh.gif

Any help will be appreciated :D Maybe someone who has done a 2.5 exhaust on there car and knows what is sounds like.

my exhasut from japan is all sorts for a N/A, 2 1/4 inch to 2 1/2 then a 3inch part then back to 2 1/2 inch

Havent bothered to dhange it and i dont get any drone at all, actually sounds nice. a bit loud yes but thats how i like it.

i theres only only way to find out, just intall it and make changes after you hear it ect.

Angle of the tip makes absolutely f**k ALL difference, screw your head on..

Get two good oval mufflers from your local exhaust shop, ANY cannon on ANY n/a skyline will sound heinous, with an N/A you want quieter, or else you will be back on here making a new thread asking why your car makes a rasping noise at 3000rpm or so.

Cheers for the help. Im going to go source me two nice 'hot dog' mufflers to point in the system. Have you had hands one experience with the sound?

I have actually got a GOOD quality exhaust tip on the standred exhaust system atm. Sounds great. No raspy sound at 3k

I'm running 2.5" mild steel with a small muffler mid way through, then from the diff back I'm running 3" straight bit of stainless and on top of that I'm running a decat pipe too.

Sounds bloody awesome, couldn't be happier.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
