firstly, sorry for stepping on other peoples ground (QLD) but i just wanted to give my 2 cents...

being a 'nissan enthusiast' I can understand the importance of keeping skyline cruises as skyline cruises. If i had a skyline and went on a cruise with u guys, I must admit that i would be happier to see just skylines than every tom, penis and harry there....

there are a number of reasons i spend most of my internet time on sau even tho i dont own a skyline. i feel a lot of the information available to the public on here is very uselful and doesnt just relate to skylines only. i mean, i bought my BOV from another member on sau so it has come in handy for me.

skylines are one of the most popular imports on our roads (if not the) and therefore there is a lot more interest in this forum as opposed to others. sau should hold its head up high (i know its not possible but just feel me here ok? :D ) as there are a large number of non-skyline owners that have an interest in this forum and therefore feel that they want to meet other members... where better a place than a cruise? obviously the barinas and commowhores can be looked down upon but at the end of the day, whether they be lines, silvias or 180's, most of us have fast nissans and they are all a joy to see... i rekon keep em coming (within reason)...

a few miscellaneous nissans is alright. you don't get too many others at a meet anyway. squizz is not affected by this as he has been around for a while, used to have an R32 etc.

charades etc, no.

This is not performanceforums, or boostcruising, this is SKYLINESaustralia.

a while? A WHILE?!?!?!

i agree, i think skyline cruiz = skyline cars, but do u kinda feel a bit bad that maybe some of the dues with the other cars that come along look up to us skyline drivers, and respect us, hence the reason why they are involved, the thursday night meets should have a little bit of acceptence for some other cars( like a ratio of 30 skylines to 3 non skylines).........lol, just making suggestions. the thursday night meets are for a friendly meet between enthuisiastic mates isnt it, however the big saturday night cruiz is a different story, we are on show case to a large number of people, so to see odd cars out amongst a heap of lines, might be beside the whole point of such a cruiz.

Why do we have to have a blanket rule for ALL cruises? We can discuss this at our next meeting Slip/Gary/Birty/Abu53, but here's what I suggest:

* Cruises where we aim for a large majority of Skylines but allow specifc cars (eg other Nissans, or imports or whatever)

* Cruises which are strictly Skylines only. I'm a fan of just about anything that goes, stops, steers and looks the goods, but as has already been stated, this community is all about Skylines. You can look at this as a reward for those that already own a Skyline, and incentive to buy one for those that don't

* We could also have invitation-only cruises/events, to reward loyal members, or members who've made a valuable contribution

* Obviously, if someone has previously proven themselves to be a dickhead, at an SAU event or elsewhere, they will NOT be welcome. We want to keep these cruises incident-free and legal.

Anyway, this is just off the top of my head and is just meant for discussion. Feel free to poke holes in my post :D

That's what I was thinking. We're a model-specific car club, and we should deviate as little as possible from the cars we are so enthusiastic about. That's Skylines, just in case anyone was wondering :D

If we allow any vehicle to tag along on our cruises, we lose our identity as a club - instead of seeing a Skyline club, people will see a whole stack of miscellaneous cars going the same direction. Not what we want.

If/when we have cruises that aren't strictly Skylines only, we want cars that sort of 'fit in' - I'm not trying to sound snobby here (hey I used to drive a lowered VC Commodore with pursuit rims and a whole stack of different shades of red on it, I know all about shìtty cars ) but we want to be indentifiable as a distinct group. Falcons, Commies, Barinas et al already have their own niche clubs - if they really want to come along on a Skyline cruise, there are usually plenty of spare Skyline seats and obliging drivers :D And what better place to tee up one of these seats than the SAU forums?

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
