It's been crazy alright! Here I was thinking I'd have a car that wouldn't need many mods for me to enjoy and just get out there and have fun/improve etc...

It has been a massive rollercoaster and now the ride is coming to a stop for a bit, after I've returned this shitty engine.

I've lost out quite a bit from this saga, We've had to tow the car back and forth a few times, extra labour on fixing shit wrong with the engine and buying parts that should have already been in the engine and all that jazzz. But hey it's better then nothing and I'll have the piece of mind that the block won't last on me lol.

No way it'll make EC, new goal is november Matsuri lol :(

Benny, Jeff and I will be there erm today, only Benny will be out drifting though.

Ferkin finally, good to know its sorted (nearly)

It'll be good to close this chapter, that's for sure!

Got some great news!

This whole ordeal has finally been sorted!!!

Le car is in my garage too, which gives me some motivation to work on it (normally sits on the bottom of the street ... steep driveway, finish work at 7pm etc).

Will do a blog post later tonight with more info, shit was whack to say the least!

I came and checked out the white run it hard 33

Also met Trevor at the petrol station and they showed me the way to wakefield.

Forgot your mates name he swapped his 33 for the stagea, anyways I had a mad chat with him as well.

You saw Benny's car? I was there in the black Advan jacket!

Ah, that would be Jeff :D

R33-garaged.jpg

Last weekend was quite eventful. 9am Saturday morning, the tow track had arrived at my house. The R33 was heading to Dahtone Racing to pull out this dud engine. The reason why we were doing this was because Jo, Alister and I had come to an agreement. I would return the engine for a full refund.

Anthony, Brodie, Paulie, Jeff, Julie and I spent a few hours removing the engine from my Skyline, and stripping it bare … to what Powerplay had supplied me. After that was completed we got the R33 towed back to my house, the towie even managed to get it in my garage!

Sunday was the finale I wasn’t hoping for. Originally I was ment to meet Alister at a mutual location to do the exchange. Just under one hour before we were ment to meet, I received an SMS.

Basically it said something has come up, leave the engine in front of our warehouse on the pallet, and we’ll put the money into your account tomorrow. I let them have it, I was sick of getting f**ked around constantly and to think that I was going to leave the engine unattended for hours on end is just idiotic.

Jo-Anne kept repeating “it’s safe there are security guards and cameras everywhere”, I did a sweep of the whole street and I stayed there for over an hour. I did not see one guard, nor could I find any cameras. I continued on my rampage and told them to organise something else.

Anyway, I suggested for Jeff, Julie and I to drop the engine off at Biggie’s house, and we did just that. We had done everything they asked so now I needed to wait, and hope that they held their word for once. Today around 1pm the funds were in my account! I felt so relieved that all of these bullshit mind games were over. Now everyone involved can just move on and let this go.

Every day I regret that I had chosen Powerplay over Dahtone Racing on getting a “new engine”. Tell you what, this engine I purchased was a bucket of shit, half of the items in it were out of my old one, vital items like idler bolts were bought from Bunnings, f**k they even reused my old head studs!

More-so the way they handled this situation was a complete joke, They had no consideration for what had happened, and their attitude has been appalling. I’m glad that they are moving to another state because I don’t know what I’ll do if I ever saw them walking down the street one day.

So take it from me, once you find a kick ass mechanic, stick to them like glue! If you don’t have a mechanic you trust, then do yourself a favour and head down to Dahtone Racing.

IT's OVER!

You saw Benny's car? I was there in the black Advan jacket!

Ah, that would be Jeff :D

Yeah saw Bennys car.

I was hanging around when he popped the tire off the rim haha

Next time I will have to give you a heads up or get one of the guys to point you out

Cheers guys, things are looking up now though all that crap is over! :)

I just won another set of wheels, they are pretty cool ..

Also ordered the first batch of parts for the rebuild, I shall do a proper update soonish!

It’s been a while since I posted about the R33, well truth be told not much progress has been made. Every night after work I get into the garage and tinker with one thing or another.

A week ago I started to doubt going ahead with this, basically rebuilding the car again in such a short time frame. I started to lose faith in myself, and I was convinced that the shell was cursed with bad luck. So I started toying with the idea of going back to my roots. Yeah, an MX-5.

So I had a look around, and a car in Queensland caught my attention. I was prepared to throw it all away for this drop top sports car I had just found. But then I started to think long and hard about the future, what I’d be doing to the MX5 and all that jazz. Still my heart was set on this little car and I was adamant upon purchasing it, until the seller knocked back my deposit offer. As someone else from interstate had to get back to him first.

I’m glad in a way that someone else snapped that car up, because I’m focused more than ever to get my Skyline up and running, the way I wanted it from the start.

A bucket-load of parts are currently on order for the new build, so for now I’ve been stripping things that are getting replaced, improved or redesigned.

I’ve got four months to get the car up and running again. The goal is to attend Raceline’s November Matsuri in my own car, which will be just over one year since I’ve driven it last.

There will be plenty of updates coming so stay tuned!

As you know, Benny regularly searches for wheels on Yahoo Japan, although he has a stack of wheels, he still does it. You never know what you might come across.

Well last week he happened to find a whole set of Lehrmeisters! He and I were both stunned to say the least! So, as you probably already know, I placed a bid on them, and won.

hashikun1970-img600x399-1341232612wctc3516464.jpg

These are currently 18×9 +35 and 18×10 +35, I’ll probably use the 18×10′s on the front of the car with a spacer, and change the lips on the 9J and 7.5J pairs.

The wheels were listed as “unknown” so I’ve still got no idea on the model name of these wheels.

I wonder if any more will pop up?

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
