Lsd Slippage

Hey all,

Just recently bought an R33 and my LSD tends to pull off one tire pizza cutter marks. Are there any good Diff joints in the northern area of Melbourne that can shim up the diff? I've rung up a few places but they've all told me that it can't be done, even though there's a guide on this forum on how to shim the diff.......

The fact that there's a guide on this forum telling you how to shim up a viscous diff doesn't mean that it is a good idea, or that it is actually doing what you and the people who recommend it think it is doing. Shimming a viscous LSD does not change the way that the viscous cartridge works. It just causes wear outside of the viscous cartridge.

Just weld it up or buy a 1.5 or 2 way. Personaly i drove weldy on the street for a year and dont understand what the fuss is of making driving hard. Its cheap and lasts for good unlike shims which will eventually wear down.

This is a daily so welding it will just shit me up the wall. I'll eventually buy a 1.5 way however money is a bit of an issue at the moment. Just want something done temporarily for now.

As your interim measure, buy one from a later R34 that hasn't done as many miles. Will be less hammered and will fall straight in

just shim it and safe up for a mech until the shimmed one goes.... its like $20 and 1/2 o 1 day job.... dont waste ur money
