Just letting you guys know that I've completed my Povo light upgrade this weekend.

-Set of non-projector R32 GTST headlights from JustJap $150 each

-the brackets were around $39 each trade price from nissan

-big hassle getting the left hand side light out due to charcoal canister

-one of the plugs had to be changed (I think it was the high beam one)

it's so much better than the projector lights and looks much meaner aswell.

picsorban... :)

So Lucien, if I ran out and bought myself one of the many HID kits around, in H1, it's not a simple "bolt on" job that my mechanic can do?

If you buy a H1 globe replacement kit, it will be a 'plug-and-play' proposition - the Xenon globes simply replace the existing globes, and you have to find a place to attach the ballasts.

I think Lucien wants to adapt the Mercedes E55 bi-xenon (high and low beam in one projector) assembly into the R32GTR assembly.

^^ What he said :)

Lucien.

since thread is entitled questions

thought I'd ask here

Can someone explain how to adjust the 32GTR headlights up! mine seem to aim low, and the bulbs are sitting ok in the sockets, someone said look for 2 screws in the back ot it. found them

but when I screwed them either way they didn't do jack

pics would be great

cheers

Mate i had the same problem, you need to put a big carboard or line your car close ( like 20cm close ) to you garage door or something then you can really tell if they move or not.

There are two screw thing ( you can use an 8mm socket or phillip head screw ), if you stand in front of you car, the one on the Right close to the guard is to use for moving/adjusting your driving light to the side of the road or more inward.

The other one which sit about 5cm lower than the first one is the ONE that to use for bringing your driving light up or down. As for adjusting the beam i'm still working on it.

By the way i bought RayBrig Metal Sand 4500k bought from Greenlight H3C and still having problem seeing at night ( or just because i cruise with my mate R34 all the time and it has Xenon ), i'm looking for a way to go HID as well.

Far out people bid like crazy for N1 lights in Yahoo Auctions Japan... I might join them soon (lol).

I saw an R32 today, GT-S with the pov lights, They look nice but since my car's a GT-R there's no way I'm putting that on it. Needs to be N1.

HID. It's been a year since I asked about it in this thread! I still haven't tried it!!! I might give it a go.

The company i work for sell GE XENON HID kits. I'm getting an R32 GTR in a week and 3 kits will be going in ASAP.

Low beam will be - 6,000K kit (from my experience, best colour & performance for low beam)

High beam will be - 4,300K kit (since this is demo car, will be used to show colour difference from 4K to 6K)

Fog light - 9,000K (spread beam pattern is used to light up the curb etc to the side of the car)

I've got HID on my currenty car and can't go without them. It will be the first modification to the line.

Will post pics of the look and performance once all done.

Just a note, R32s came with all sorts of bulbs, some are H3, some are H3C, some are H1. You just have to pull out the bulb and have a look to be sure.

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
