Hello everyone.

Just trying to let everyone know that there is a Hi- Tech car show in Rockhampton, central queensland.

We have already found a great accessable spot and a few minor sponsors

The show will be held on the 15th of May 2004. Hopefully we are giving you enough warning!

We are trying to organise a show mainly aimed at Hi-Tech modified car owners. This mainly lends itself towards owners of Imports... however we will also be open to all sorts of interesting vehicles. Including blown EFI commodores, Hi-tech and custom 4x4's and anything of special interest... like a blow through turbo'd carby L18 motor in a Hi-ace van... anything like that... If you come you will see that rocky has some crazy cars like a 4wd turbo patrol with 340hp at the bags

Entry for both Spectators and Entrants will be free. So the only cost is if you aren't a local you will have to find accomodation and get your vehicle here.

As well as the show on Saturday morning, we will be holding a Supercruise around the lovely town of Rocky on Saturday night. Hopefully we will be able to organise a large variety of cars and car owners to come on this cruise so we can make it as fun and exciting as possible.

then incase you thought all the fun was over then. We will be having another cruise to Yeppoon on Sunday morning around 11am. It will be starting from the Northside Plaza carpark and we will meet and greet before heading off to a open highway cruise of about 40 kms before we reach beautiful Yeppoon beachs. There will then be a BYO BBQ at the Bluff before everyone dissappears home after a great weekend of meeting like minded car NuTZ.

Rick and Dan are trying to organise it as much as possible so we can get all the details to everyone ASAP.

For all the out of towners this is a great chance to meet the Rocky locals and see some nices sites while cruising with a heap of cars... sounds fun don't it.

But have no fear about getting lost, etc. There will be a contact Mobile Phone No. given out at the CarShow and you can call for any information any time. If we have enough out-of-towners we will even try to organise some other activities for everyone so you can see the sites and make some new import friends.

For some more info phone DANNY CURRAN on 0416106846

Sound like fun?

So come on guys its always good to see what other parts of this state trends with cars are, some come to rocky on the 15/16th of may and see whats happening in rocky as we are keen as mustard to see whats happening in your neck of the woods!

Yeah. This motorshow is turning out really well.

It's going to be alot more relaxed than some of the other shows around.

It will be more about friends than prizes... however there will be a few trophies to hand out as well...

Friends... friends... :kick:

    • I also used Knox driveshafts when I the slip yoke T56 to the 3bolted TR6060 type. I believe I was one of his first jobs as it literally changed hands when I was there, started by the old owner and finished by the new. Everyone seemed pretty great about it. So wasn't shy/seemed pretty knowledgeable when dealing with weird custom people like me.
    • Just a reminder orange park was cool back in the day   and drifting the main circuit was even cooler   f**k I miss that car
    • We used Knox Drive shafts years ago when we were doing gravel rally, good guy but I heard it had changed hands? He's got a lot of stuff and is miles cheaper than GJ and so on. He used to have a lathe setup with a MIG torch on the tool holder so he could get the uni welds just right, quite a clever guy. I just got a driveshaft done for my sequential installation and that was through Balancing Services Australia in Preston, they did the Gibson cars in the old days. New genuine CV's, billet yoke, new centre bearing and chome moly shaft was $2k.
    • Thanks for sharing that mate, I've got a couple of spares on the shelf but all the unis are tight....will give old mate a shout. BTW are you sure it wasn't just a $400 paint job? Any detail of what they replaced (cut/reweld?)
    • Yeah I saw that about the US Q50 recently, apparently it was shown to Inifiniti dealers (probably to help with their depression about the cars they can sell). Seemed like a really obvious step to me, the platforms are very similar in many ways. Even if there aren't many people who actually put the money up it should really help with image/reputation. What hasn't been clear anywhere if that is a V38 model of if they are just going to add the trans as an option in a new model year. What they did with the Z from 370z to "Z" is just weird so I'd be surprised if they released this as a V38. Great news for me to have an option; it is far from confirmed that I can get any decent track sessions through the auto so having a manual I can swap to is great.
