ur questin is too vague, real question is how much $ u got.

i

cheapest bet is:

$1800 na s13 weld diff 2nd hand coilovers total = 2.5k max and its licenced for street.

dont do it in your R34 as it will just end up a real pig. start off with a real piece of crap and see how u go. if u wanna fork out a bit more get a turbo r32 skyline or sr20det s13 but ur looking closer to 4-6k. turbo is more power and easier sideways action, but also for a 4-6k turbo skyline/silvia i wouldnt put too much faith in it ie BOOM

yikes, should have bought my friends r32 rb25det few months back :) would u want it to be able to be driven on the street or for track only?

either way im sure you could easily find a nicely 'already modified' skyline, silvia, 180, or s14 for that much money all ready to go nothing more to pay (except tyres) :P

basically the way it should work for around 10k+ is the older the model the car the more modified it should be, ie an R32 or s13 for sale at 14k would have to be built or atleast have a big turbo slapped on the side with some good suspension, rims, ecu etc as opposed to an s14/s15 or r34 at 14k would be less modified or not modified at all.

you dont have to stick with nissan either, you can look at mazda rx7, toyota, people drift all sorts of cars, you cant really say this car is better than that one, some people say 4 door cars are better some say 2 doors.

its just personal choice

tho usually for a beginner you want to start off with something with just some good suspension setup an lsd diff and not crazy power

yea im not to keen on the r32's unless its a 4 door, this is my mums accout so shes the one wih the r34, i got a 33 but i was gonna drift that but its to clean and straight to do it in.

i think i would go with a 32, 33 or 34 4 door :)

so what car would you recomend char?

bahaha pete. most important is suspension setup and tyres.

s14, has better brakes and five stud. great platform for drifting once you drop in a 25 neo or VH45DE

Or a VK45DD OR a 1GZ-FE

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
