Hey guys, just want to see if any NSW guys with NA's would be interested in a run down at the drags. Tried to get some 300ZX's to go on the zed forums but most of them are too scared to get their skirts dirty so i'll try here. Turbo guys welcome too, just NA's i think would be closer competition to my car :P I have a few friends who want to go aswell so i want to gauge interest to see when i can set a date for it. Let me know if you're interested guys, i'm shooting for low 14's this time :D

Hay man I'll be sure to come , eastern creek?? I have a gtt

Yeah mate eastern creek, i'll let you know when. Just looking for some semi slicks first :)

Maybe i should go, i hav'nt been with my new engine but i dont have a new helmet either.

Fairly sure i can organise a helmet for you, if you decided to come.

Haha ill come break out the 33 na lol anyone got any ideas on a rough time mine will run :-P

Whats done to it? Guys if you need helmets they have a few to lend if you get in early.

Only a cat back exhaust lol so i expect it to run something slow... What would you think it would run ive seen some n/a's run good times standard

I've seen a catback & pod NA R33 do 15.4 @ 92-ish mph which is fairly good considering its only a 2.5L motor. It all comes down to the launch, as it will make or break your run. I'm hoping i can find semi slicks before i go again, spun most of first gear :(

yer whats done to yours your quarter times seem really fast for a n/a

On the 300ZX i have twin 2.5" Catback exhaust, K&N Pod Filter, Underdrive crank pulley & a brass button clutch. No idea if anything is done internal wise, but it does pull fairly well compared to other NA zeds i've driven, including my cousins old 140rwkw one. We'll see what it does when i get the other lightweight pulleys, lightweight tailshaft, Semi slicks & Nistune done, should be 14.1 or 14.2-ish after that.

I never realised the 300zx were that quick n/a... Nice work tho certainly is making out into a quick p platers rig.. Ill definatly be i on a wednesday night for a run or even a national park run anytime

try make a allocated date so you can work out how many people can get there. I have a helemt thats just to old and there is nothing wrong with it. ill have to try hire one.

Na 300zx's dominate NA r33's

Hows the 2nd of next month for everyone? i may have two V6 commodores coming along with an MX6 so it'll be a fun little day. I don't think i'll be able to get any other mods done by then so i'll run in current trim again, will try adjusting my launch technique and lower my 60ft times. Enjoy the vid.

    • To back this up, I'm always looking on the outside, seeing the level, and then opening it up anyway, as I'm worried the level I've looked at, is more so a scunge line. Then you end up dipping your damn finger in it too depending on the type of tank you're looking at just to make sure I'm not going insane.   PS, Mark, polish up the none moroso one a bit and then give it a clear coat. The Moroso one looks to be way shiner (not mirror polished, just shinier) and it'll still look weird with the two different alloys beside each other. Either that, or Id probably paint them a flat black...
    • Good old Orange Park hey... 😛   f**k I miss that race track
    • lo, it was a death trap. Good times. Got any Fatz Drift Day DVDs still available?
    • Yes, overthinking. Many PS reserviors are completely opaque. Our Skyline ones, for example. Have to remove lid, peak inside, swirl the dipstick, try to remember how to read it, etc etc. Normal. Radiator overflows are often sufficiently opaque and scunged up that you can't see the true level inside anyway, and have to open and have a peak. Besides which, I replaced the (massively expensive, even back then) plastic overflow in my Alfa GTV, back in the '90s with a stainless one that I had a good fabricator make up to be dimensionally same-same, that looks remarkably similar to the Bogan's Moroso one above, and I never suffered any particular paranoia that I didn't know how much coolant was in it.
    • Looks great, but I'm always concerned that it makes it difficult to see what level the fluids are at. Am I overthinking this?
