The only thing I'm scared of is the clutch plate coming loose, 3 of the bolts stretched so I replaced them but I'm worried the rest might let go.

I'm trying to find a picture of how the wiring gets tidied up, I took photos on my phone when i pulled it out but it crashed and I lost them all.

Have been reading along since you started, just unable to comment as I haven't got a clue.

Gotta say man, hats off to your persistence. I can imagine how nerve wrecking it would be to be doing the assembly of your engine for the first time, so the fact that you've pressed on with it and not payed someone else to do it despite not getting any help from anyone here is quite impressive. I do hope it all goes well for you, hopefully those dog hairs don't cause any trouble laugh.gif

Ok this is all I have left to do/buy.

Engine mount nuts for the bottom side (don't know where they ended up), set of belts, 3 bolts in passenger side drive shaft, dump pipe bolts/studs, fuel filter, fit turbo oil drain, buy some hose for the cam breathers.

So yeah should be doing my mountain run on Friday night.

Brain fart again. My car has an imobiliser. F**k im stupid. Just warmed her up and went for a 100km drive though the country side. Got home and turned her off, realized I wasn't in the garage and it wouldn't start :/. Error 21 ignition signal fault, car started 10 times with this fault.

i just did what i read on the net, warmed it up with a high idle, checked for leaks (does have an exhaust leak at the cat to fix but i can do that anytime), then headed for the biggest hills around and loaded it up and down them until i had done 100km (wife needed to wee anyway) and headed for home)

im organizing with my tuner now to get it done asap, ive got my parents car to drive anyway so it can just sit and wait until a few more km are put through it.

my wife was watching the data logging while we were driving and nothing looked dangerous. it made 1-2psi once or twice up hills. although it feels like my hand brake is on, timing out maybe, the cas is lined up with the old marks so it cant be far off, if at all.

other then that, no weird noises or rough running

When I saw the guys do the timing on my car at the shop, they removed the coil pack from cylinder 1, put some sort of a plug from the coil pack to the spark plug then clamped the timing light to that line going to the spark plug. Has to be cylinder one, any induction light will pick up the signal through the wire to the spark and flash when it does.

Bond - yeah I thought that.

Sarge - I wanted to avoid pulling that apart before I changed the plugs for the tune.

I should hear back from my tuner tonight so il see what e wants to do.

Ok just did an oil change. 115km worth of driving

There is about 15-20 big pieces of something. And the oil has a generally glittery look. Millions of tiny particles. I've kept an oil sample.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
