After Some Lsd Advice.

I'm after some advice. I want a better LSD than the factory viscous one because it is pants but I am not interested in getting it shimmed up.

I was thinking about getting a used ALSD but it looks like a minefield of potential trouble.

I can't afford a really expensive NISMO one etc.

Are there any mechanical ones from other Nissans which can do the job so I can get a used one?

What do you reckon? I don't want a 2.0 way, probably a 1.5 way.

see if you can find a 2nd hand GTR rear unit out of a 33. Swap the centres over, pretty sure the 33 gtr's have a mechanical rear

Thanks mate. Does it just drop straight into the diff housing?

Should do, 32 GTR and GTS-t centres are interchangable. Will need backlash resetting/checked though as the centres may have slightly different lengths you never know

Also, if you find one, check to see if your half shaft splines go into there. I have a feeling the GTR's are thicker

GTRs definitely have the bigger half shafts. You need driveshafts to go with them.

And the GTRs also use a CV joint type connection to the tailshaft rather than a tailshaft yoke type connection. I don't know how easy it is to swap the yoke onto the GTR pinion. I assume it's possible because no shortage of people have done it one way or the other.

I was just reading about this and you have to change loads of stuff out including hubs. Basically might as well put a GTR sub frame in. I'll stay well away from this option.
