Hey Guys, Some help needed, so any advice given would be appreciated. Wanting to buy and fit custom plates on my r33 gts-t s1, but realized the plates are too long to fit on the front. Plates actually measure 372mm x 132mm. What are the ways besides cutting and bending which i can use to fit them on the front? Dampers of some sort? Anyone has any pictures of their own car plates, which i can have a look at.

Thanks guys!

Hi mate , heres an old post of mine , hope it helps !!!I thumbsup.gif

recently got some custom plates for my R32 GTR , i tried bending the old bracket to fit this did not work , also didnt want to bend the ends or cut the ends of thenumber plate off to fit on the front as this looks untidy , i have limited mechanical knowledge and time but this is what i came up with !

Got some zenith 100 x 100, 90 degree steel brackets from bunnings hardware :Dand drilled new holes in them , so the plate would fit flush to the front bar using the three existing mounting screws .

Cut some pieces of 2mm powdercoated plate the same size as the front plate and the rear plate with a grinder. Rivetted the 2mm plate to the brackets for strength and drill holes to mount plates in corners

Remove front bracket again (undo underside screws) , paint both steel plates , Do the same job with the rear but use existing mounting bolt holes as fixing points for big rivets (works great ) drill two new holes on the bottom of rear bracket depending on what size plate you have, i went for square rear , slim front .

Finally rivet custom plate onto steel backing plates to make them harder to thieve ! :P paint rivets black to make good !

Wow, exceptional job Mark. Those plates weren't coming off in a hurry!

For mine, I just did the same as Terry, longer bolts with some metal spacers in between the plate and the bumper. Cut some cloth to fit and put this between the bumper and the spacers so that the paint wouldn't be damaged.

I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
