r33 gts25t with a to4e

just wondering is anyone else has had the same problem as me.

when im driving and have to stop quickly at a set of lights or an intersection the car nearly stalls and when driving up the hill then go to turn into my house it will stall unless i keep the revs up.

when i bought the car the guy said the blow off valve just needs to be tightened all the way and it will solve the problem. but iv done this and it didnt make a difference. a guy at a dyno tuning place told me that my intake pipe wasnt long enough but all my mates have said that that shouldnt matter.

my blow off valve is placed at the front right of the car just before where the pipe goes into the fmic. could this have anything to do with it as iv seen bov's placed just above the motor where the piping comes out.

can anyone help me please? some1 that has had the same problem would help?

Ive got a similar, if not the same problem....when youve stopped, does your idle go up and down? i just bought my car, and thats what mine does...its the aftermarket BOV...putting the standard one back on will solve mine, i just havent done it yet.

Definately clean out the AAC valve at back of engine near the fire wall- its easy to to do & theres a tutorial with pics here somewhere

Solved my problem-black carbon deposits build up in it-blast it out with a can of carby cleaner & some extra big cotton buds-takes about an hour to do

Mine occasionally does this, stock intake system. Everything's fine (spark plugs, ecu etc). Usually it happens when I am giving some steering input as well, I think the combination of dropping revs PLUS an emptying vacuum assist system is a bit quick for the ECU to keep up. For me it only happens when I come to a complete stop, the ECU maintains a higher idle point when the wheels are turning and only drops down to its base idle when you come to a complete stop.

I've talked to a couple of skyline lovers about this problem and they said it's could be one thing,

i strongly agree about some intake been short, of course you can make them longer and,

also put a couipe of bends into the intake.

What happens, when you change gears and because of your intake been short the

turbo blows air back through your intake and your AFM reads the air and the

computer dumps a lot of fuel into your engine but there is no air so you car stalls.

I hope you can understand what i mean.....And i don't your BOV is the issue....

That's bullshit, don't listen to that.

If that scenario were even true, it would only be true if you were dosing your engine. but you're not and the story is bullshit anyway.

Get a recirculating bov and move on.

making your intake longer is just stupid.

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps  
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car. 
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
