Just brought a series 1 r33

As this is my first foray into imports I though I'd jump on here and get some advice from those who know

I know the rims are shit and it needs more low haha but I've gotta get a roadworthy done first

  • 2 weeks later...

I honestly think that them rims aren't all that bad :)

And for the lowering it, I'm not going to lower my skyline, but only because my dads car is low, and I don't want to get scratches on the bottom from road humps and some peoples drive-ways.

^^^ You might have been witnessing a car theft or the get away from a criminal offence, given that it was in Ulladulla. Statistics show that 32% of all vehicular journeys undertaken in Ulladulla are related to serious crime, another 28% related to the movement of drugs and 12% whilst 3 or more of the vehicles occupants are intoxicated.

Cheers for the feedback guys. Managed to pick up a second hand set of rims for it. I think they are work copies??? Not too sure. Also just got some tein Nr coilovers for it.

Landscribble, I brought it from Hattonvale, about halfway between Ipswich and Toowoomba

Dan I have absolutley no idea where that is so I'm going to say no haha.

Justin, the new rims I got for it are 18's, so I'm obliged to lower it, as it's nearly 4wd spec now :P

    • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
    • What Duncan said sounds right. Also, it looks like they only have the driver's mat. Not the rest. Because looking at the diagram: KG4911 is just the mat for the driver. KG4900 is the full set if I'm not mistaken and discontinued.   But, it looks like they may still have the full set for the manual S2. Might be worth checking for the other models as well as they seem slightly different. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6649-rb25det/misc/G49 Man, I'm tempted.
    • I dunno about that as a blanket statement. Pitwork is Nissan's "Nissan genuine" thing, and for stuff like timing belts, I have found them to be excellent. Of course, for things like oil filters, you always use proper trusted brands anyway, not whatever the OEM has taken to using.
