ok guys i'm putting my running gear "rb30det" into my 180sx & trying to get it to sit as low as i can for clearance issues anyways i was told to use the nissan laurel engine crossmember with rb20 engine mounts & brackets? i've tried fitting the engine to the x member before putting them into the 180 but the sump seems to be hitting/sitting on the x member & the mounts wont go into place by about 2 inches. so am i using the wrong engine crossmember or engine mounts/brackets?

the pictures i've attached is that the correct nissan laurel engine crossmember the seller told me is he correct?

second one is of the sump hitting the crossmember!!

what have people use it the past?

cheers

may sound silly but have you got the xmember around the right way? the lower sump section should sit infront of the xmember, unless its a funky one like the 200ZRs in which case you need a rear humped sump.

looks like the bracket may need to be modified.

with the RB30 it wont be just a bolt in affair.

the motor sits to high.

what i did was purchase a kit off Ebay.com form the US. i used the standard S14 cross member then modified the the kit i got from US - (the kit is to suit a RB26)

you should really be fitting in up in the engine bay and check bonnet clearances because thats where the problem will be.

this is a similar kit but not the same.. its cheap too..

if you still have probelms look on nissansilvia i think they use Cefiro / r33 cross member but not 100%

So with this kit is there still bonnet clearance problems?

we remade the mounts to get the engine as low as possible.

all you need is a case of bear a engine crane and two keen monkeys.

just tac the mounts into place you may need a custom sump or in my case a dry sump.

bonnect clearance is not a problem on mine.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
