cheers man.

same shot here but with the owner (forum member too) in the shot too. Sidd, give your CC on the persons placement/lighting/blah blah... keen to hear what people think since adding people to the shot is relatively new to me. :)

Fongy, Looks like we were trying the same sort of thing.

Well its not a model shoot so having him there is perfectly fine. Its his car im assuming so exactly where he is just perfect.

Now take that next step and perhaps even ask him to dress up a bit. Corporate the two into one shot perhaps? But offcourse this all depends if he keen.

Maybe something like this which I did many years ago:

^ not saying that is perfect in anyway.. Just giving you an idea and perhaps something you can market?

Wish I had his hand in another position and fixed up his pants at the bottom. But this was such a long time ago. Cant believe I did those borders!!! What was I thinking lol..

Otherwise lighting is fine on the person :)

More like I need tips from you for shooting cars. A friend of mine asked me to take pics of his new car soon. So need all the tips possible to balance flash on cars :)

Something I have not done since the shot above. But looking forward to photographing a car again.

Sidd

Great new website man. Looks much better as a blog mate - if you ever need a hand with web stuff, give me a buzz and I'll see what I can do.

I just left you a comment on the website as well, "Great photos sidd. Put a smile on the face looking at these!" - The truth needs to be said!

thanks sidd. I'm about to go check ur page out ;) Got any specific questions? I'll give u specific answers :P

Here's a couple from powercruise drifting. Amazingly powercruise isn't just bogandoors and fords. good mix of cars! I'll be doing a story on the drift on autocult later in the week.

That's a really strong shot Fongy. I LOVE IT! Very well executed.

I've been doing some other random stuff other than cars recently. it's good to refresh and recharge batteries.

Don't shoot into the sun they say...

Run!(if the compression/colours are shite it's because this one is hosted on FB and not flickr. can't upload from work ;/)

I entered a photography comp at a local show over the weekend, one of my shots got third place and it was one of the weaker shots in my opinion. I asked the dude what they judge on, he went on about the rule of 3rds like it was the most important thing to a photo. I asked him to critique a few shots and he said I should never shoot into the sun. (which it one of my favorite things to do) So i got marked down for shooting into the sun AND maintaining a good exposure through the shot.

this one came third

Haha, well that goes to show photography has no right or wrongs. I am not a fan of rule of 3rds or avoiding the sun. Sun shots are great. I love centered photos. The photos I love, they would of thrown in the bin. That also means one of my favourite shots Sidd has ever done, (Above) gets thrown into the grinder - It uses sun and and is centered.

Were the judges old school?

Hey matt, just saw you ALSO have a new website... nice. This one looks much cooler hehe.

Just a note about your website, some of the background images are quite bright and I am unable to read the menu items. Change the top menu area to have less opacity and should be right. The comments section for users to type in, is white with white writing - really hard to see. The photos in the blog also exceed the width of the background - Do you know how to auto resize these?

Did you make this one yourself (looks like word press?) Otherwise looks good man. Nice work - If you need a hand or anything, you know who to ask :)

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
