i saw that grey car, its pretty close and running 16s not 15s im not sure what size but 15s seem more common? but as you said brake clearance maybe an issue.

i am 99percent sure ill go with 15s as i really like the look and i have a some very good sets of 15" tires track and street which helps

and are they 9.5 rear? they look wider ether way the stance is very near what i want..

checking wanatabe prices.

will your brother be at forum battle tomorrow? ill buy a set then

Tyre fitment and ride height will make or break what you are trying to achieve.

YES! and width these all have to be perfect

can you post pics of your fitment on the z??

if anyone else has pictures of old school aggressive dish style setups that they know the width offset and maybe even tire size please post it.

we can all have fun with this

i want that model. man ive had 15s wantanabes and i agree there the best wheel 4 drs but mine was slammed, and it was f*kd to drive around. if u wanna runn em u gotta run shit profiles. 17s as a min

they look 55s or 60s?? to me though and its not all that slammed is it? it looks similar to mine does now (height wise)

Best pic I have at the moment (with 225/50's).

DSCN0068.jpg

Left wheel is just about flush with flair while right sits in about 15mm. Need to replace diff and sub-frame mounts to pull them into line.

Now run 205/50's and have just purchased 20mm spacers to get the right look.

u running 18s hey? dont touch ne thing and put 15s on.

the fronts on drs need to be low to look ne decent, a space the size of watermelon between the rims and gaurds is just crap. to make 15s work its gotta be slammed.hard. depend wat u wanna do, id a void big profiles if u wanna do ne thing decent in it, if u wanna drive to the shops the yea 60s are fine. imo

dont get me wrong i just figured that it looked to be wearing about 55-60s i dont care for driveability as much as it looking right!

tires need that stretch they also need the right style of wall,

there wont be any short cuts!

15x9 -13 fronts 15x12 -51 rear? is my current guess for correct width??

d-limo what width are your rear wheels ?

yeah fair call.. well im chasing the look of the pictures above so those flairs are fairly big. ill give them a call and visit.

im not afraid of running the car with 15s im aware of the sump issue, iv hit and reinforced mine.. i think ill run it a little higher for driving and drop it for shows, the other sump saver idea is to run the cars a little more level ie bring the rear down more they tend to sit nose down and that does not help. Dan iv noticed this on your car in particular and was going to ask you the other Sunday actually..ill also likely run a heavy spring and shock setup so avoid nose dip on bumps.

maybe we should design a sump setup for fjs people all over the world will buy them haha

now also its my guess ill need to cut the guard at the rear, that over all that is probably my biggest concern, i mean i cant go back once its done, thats why i want to make sure its done right!! i mean im happy to do it but its just got to be perfect!

    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
