Oh....boy. Here's a worthwhile thought. NEVER borrow money to modify cars. It's bad enough borrowing money to buy them in the first place.

Yoda says, "Save, or do not. There is no borrow".

BAH!!! yeah if you wanna take advice from a midget green alien that was no doubt conceived from somebodies LSD tripping..go for it

otherwise beg, borrow, steal....the end justifies the means

yep I was going to say the exact same thing.... no wonder the bank wouldnt give you the finance...

bank: 'so what are you spending this money on that you want us to loan you?'

you: 'power upgrades for my 12 year old car, i want it to go faster'

bank: 'oh kkkk?, thats sound like a good investment for us?'

I remember a mate years back, he had a good friend working in car audio ..So he decides to borrow 10k and deck his boot out with amps and subs the works cause he could get a good price and free install..

It was crazy, about 8k worth of goodies, 5 amps laid into custom boot panels, big subbox, more subs in the doors, speakers everywhere, neon lights the whole shebang......

Anyway before doing this we told him to fix the little bits of rust around his back window (old falcon) and make sure the boot didnt leak..

he didnt listen, his amps and sub box got wet ..it was mostly ruined and he had no money left to fix it just a huge debt and a rusty old falcon with half a cool stereo..

Ok as the title states im upgrading my turbo as my factory one is giving up, before i go and spend 6k id like your opinions

Now ill start with the cars current mods: Full 3" exhaust (gutted cat), Front Mount Intercooler, Walbro 255LPH fuel pump, K&N Pod, Yellow Jackets coil packs, Brand New Exedy Heavy duty clutch

Im Looking at the GTX3076R turbo kit from Kudos? it will be street driven and i want to get into doing a bit of track work, I know it will be a bit laggy for the street but i can live with that, i want to pick a turbo that i can use after i get the bottom end forged and want more power. At the moment until i get it forged and upgrade my clutch im chasing around 250rwkw

Along with the turbo i also plan on getting a top feed fuel rail kit with 650cc injectors and a Haltech platinum pro ecu

So what are your thoughts? have i missed anything?

yh dude thatnks for asking that i was wondering the same thing but my forum got shut but i havent found any forums comparing them directly.. You dont mind if i asked a question on your thread about what turbo would be better either the Hypergear G3 or the GTX3076r. apparently they're all good. BTW ID YOU DO MIND JUST DELETE MY POST!!.

OMG.... your thread was closed because your not interested in helping yourself to the shedloads of info on this forum relating to the questions you have...

does your mommy bath and dress you still as well....

do some reading and make a decision you dont need people to answer your questions because others have either already answered it 11ty billion times or they have posted the experiences or dyno results on this forum regarding all sorts of setups including the turbos your asking about...

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
