Hey guys looking for some second hand 19" or 20" wheels for my v35 but trying to get my head around offsets?

One set I am looking at are 20 x 8.5 with a 35 offset the guy thinks. Currently on a 300zx. From what I've been reading on here the 35 offset would sit well inside the guards?

What would fit?

If anyone is thinking of selling some wheels too let me know. Looking for under $1k. Have 17" 350z wheels I may trade too if someone wants.

I have done TONS of research on this, and in my opinion, the following are the best results to have nice flush fitment on a V35 coupe:

Front 9.5" wide +20 offset running 235/40s = no scrubbing at all - tiny bit lower offset needed to be perfectly flush, but normally results in some scrubbing

Rear 10" wide +12 offset running 265/35s, but you need camber arms to tuck the tops in a tad (which ytou want anyhow for optimal road handling under power).

Awesome site full of info and pictures :

And to figure out offsets, use

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Yeah 8.5 +35 is weak as .... I mean use the calculator and compare 8.5 +35 to my fronts 9.5 +20 = they would sit 21mm further inside the guards than mine = fail. And on the rear make that 42mm further inside = horrendous fail.

But yes if you have a $1k budget you are screwed. Save up and buy a more decent set. If you can live with not-so-tough offset buy some R34GTR wheels - a set sold recently here in SA for $1,200 = cheap!

I will be selling my 20's as soon as my 18's rock up and i give the 20's a good proper clean up, only looking for $600 on them, but I am rolling them on my sedan and I'm not sure of the widths and offsets and wont be until they come off later this week. I'll let you know what they turn out to be and put some pics up when i have gave them a polish up,

Just to give you a rough idea.

I went 19x8.5+15 (245/35)F 19x10+20(275/30)R

In my opinion I think the fitment is pretty sweet not aggressive but not too aggressive.

I figure I'll only need to roll my guards if I drop it too low.. (but I intend on rolling my rears as is when I drop it)

Got a pretty good price on the XXRs too.

Just over $1k without tyres.

or just save a bit more and get a 2nd hand set of 370z 19s, last I checked going price with tyres was just around the $2k mark...

Could be less now, check the zclub forums.

No standard car in the universe has offset anywhere near what you need. You are not going to fall across a set of wheels in the size you want - you are going to actively search for wheels mate - it is hard work, and 99% of the wheels you come across will be nowhere near the right offset.

People have the impression you need to spend $3K+ if you want a set of nice JDM wheels. The markets pretty bad at the moment and there are plenty of bargains to be had.

A member here just purchased a very expensive set of Rays wheels in 19s with tires for his V and it cost way under $2K 2nd hand. Do your research and take your time. I do most of my hunting for wheels on forums and ebay. SAU, Boost, Nissansilvia etc...

IMHO for under $1K, all you are going to do is make your car look cheap, not to mention finding the right offsets to suit.

Just got my new wheels on today, sedan so will be different fittment to yours but they are 18x8.5 +25 front and 18x9.5+30 rear, rears hit the guard when i hit a bump, but will be getting the guards rolled.

^^^ Nice - I have always loved the Kai style. But don't bother getting the guards rolled - get some skinner tyres with some stretch - those puffy looking things are a bit  imho

erm, where the wheel sits is to far out, its gotta be done, also those are only 245s

You are running the exact same width and offsets as mine at the moment.

Lower it by about 30mm and you will sit in nicely. I'm running 275s on the rears lowered and rolled guards.

If the OP is wondering, please don't use the sedan's offsets as reference to what suits your coupe. They are completely different.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
