So the M35 is definitely still under stat warranty

When I have to drive slowly over a speed hump or twist out of a raised driveway I hear a horrible sound like the whole chassis is dry and needs some grease on a few bushes or maybe its the suspension. Mostly it seems to come from the front suspension but there could be some sound from the rear leaf spring bushing also. I wonder if someone got carried away steam cleaning underneath.

Sure I read somewhere here about greasing something at the front end but I cant find the post now.

If its something simple I'd rather do it myself than go through all the aggravation of complaining to the used car dealer.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

Car was road worthy tested only a few weeks ago before I drove it away so I'm assuming the suspension isn't stuffed.

Quick fix or get it checked at a Tyrepower?

Cheers

Most of the bushes in a car this old will be on the way out. I would get under there and grease the bushes with some lube spray like lanolin (or something that wont attack rubber) and see if the noises go away first. It could also be the shock.

Failing that, go to town on replacing all the bushes with Nolethane and get some BC's.

I had a similar issue with my PNM35, it started to squeak at low speed such pulling in and out of driveways, speed humps etc. after the under side was washed. The bushes all looked ok, so gave them a quick spray with Silicone and the noise has not returned (almost 1 year ago)

Thanks for the advice guys.

It's been quiet most of today. It agrees with the warmer weather.

I'll grab a can of silicone from work and go and see someone I know with a car hoist.

Cheers.

    • Hahahahah, look, your not wrong πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and thank you brother πŸ™πŸΌ jokes aside, I haven't driven the car in 6+ years and it's like I'm starting all over again, and furthermore the car is wayyyy more powerful and it's characteristics are night and day different now compared to what I remember. So I'm slowly easing myself back into the groove, the car is literally scaring me a bit tbh.....it feels like it has 200hp more than it does on paper and responds like a cammed Ls v8, and-some! πŸ˜… every single bit of throttle pedal travel and input has instant response all the way to the floor, zero flat spots or labouring feelings, it's nuts. • If the house has ever been sold before too, they have photos from that etc.
    • I used to do that, but then I got savvy. The benefits of having your phone photos geotagged outweigh the negatives. I just don't publish any photo straight off the phone/out of the gallery/off google photos, etc. If I'm going to use a photo, other than for SMSing to fam, I will always open it on the computer, copy it/otherwise edit it and save down without the original metadata, before using it. For example, posting photos of my engine bay into a thread on here, to show someone a plug or something - I will just screen-cap the section I want to use and paste that section direct from the clipboard into the post. No metadata goes along with.
