G Box Or Clutch?

Recommended Posts

Okay so here the story goes;

My gearbox grinds when changing gears, both shifting down and up. Not every time, but most times. I changed my gearbox oil to 80w90, was still exactly the same. I then put this ultra high performance oil we had lying around at work pretty sure it was 50w70. Still exactly the same. So im thinking it can't be oil related? and because it's every gear, both up and down i don't think it's synchro's either? so now im thinking clutch. More specifically, if it's not engaging all the way.. I dropped it in fourth with the handbrake on and it stalled straight away (which is good right?). The only other thing i can think of is diaphragm fingers on the pressure plate bent, which would make the clutch not engage all the way? Any ideas or advice would be so helpful!

Many thanks! Daniel
