my car is a 1996 nissan r33 skyline series2 and this is my problem and need help

okay well hears whats happening i brought my car about 3/4 months ago i think and about 2/3 months ago i noticed it was blowing smoke some times like in boost or turning right and some times just every day driving but its not constant. at first i thought it was worn rings so i put it off and the compression test showed 165/170 across the board so i know its not that and then i started to think it may have been the turbo so i replaced it and still blowing smoke!! i think its way to much smoke to be blow by and its funny its just happening some times(that i can see) so i don't know what else it could be

???maybe worn valve seals?????

i just want the hunt to be over and not have to worry about checking the oil and when hitting boost or just daily driving killing the people behind me so any ideas or thoughts if any one has had this problem be for and that could tell me what to do would be great thanks

also another thing is my car is missing around 4500-5500 i think because of the coil packs i have changed the spark plugs and my fuel pump seem to be on 20/7 so i think theres heaps of fuel presser so the only think it could be is the coil packs shitting them selfs? there stock coilpack

im running 9.5 - 10psi and i have tried turning it down and its still there

you have to fix the miss anyways =/ unless its related to a tune issue ??

check your coilpacks properly .. u can ussually tell the difference between a spark miss and a tune miss

check for corrosion , smell , or split leads ??

check your plugs aswell .. ussually a good indication if a cylinder is down

no point attacking the head when it could be something small like AFM coilpack or timing .. PCV vavle ? lol

What colour is the smoke?

Hey guys I am Wilderboys house mate.

Currently the car has not been tuned its still running the stock 33 ECU.

If it is missing then its not going to be a tune miss.

I might swap my coil packs with him so he can test them.

Also we dont have the equipment for a leakdown test so will get that organised

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
