I got some cheap adjustable cam gears.

I was reading about cam belts and now im worried about the quality of the gears cos if they fail...$$$$$$

Anyway if anyones got experience with them, please tell me about it.

Yes I'm a bit nervous about them too but I've used them in the past without problems (although one experience doesn't prove anything) and have one waiting to go on my RB30. Apparently there were some bad ones (from a big name Japanese supplier forget which one) but I have never actually seen a post from someone who has had one fail in use in say the last five years (not saying it hasn't happened). I imagine hundreds if not more have been sold in that time.

Yeah end of the day the metal should be fine on the gear.

The early series HKS cam gears used poor metal (going back over 8 years now). The teeth used to wear down over time.

However these days even the cheap/copy style gears are not too bad, just ensure you replace all the bolts to known quality/strength for safety.
