Cross roads KFC is pretty central, then hit the highway, and cruise on down.

Let me know if you're coming.

And we will leave pretty much on the dot.

Hope to see you there, cheers, Luke.

haha thanks Luke, yeah i was going to do one but i had a lunch date to rush to so was leaving it to...well now.

Any chance i can ask one more favour? a GPS address for this KFC so i can just punch it in and forget about it, are we sure we want to time the exit with peak hour? no chance of a lunch or mid afternoon escape so we can get out there in time for dinner? Or are you hankering for some fried chicken as road dinner...

pwned by Shell yet again!

yeah i didnt realise that 'crossroads' was actually a legit name for a place, figured it was just some kind of in house shorthand for somewhere i was clueless about..thanks for doing the legwork for me though :)

See you on the saturday i guess!

sorry guys, i did mean the 18th, realised, but was already back to work(wrote up at lunch).

unfortunately, the wife has to work.

im putting in for an annual leave day, otherwise, i dont get home until 6.....

in regards to peak hour, its more on the tail end of the traffic congestion, so just pray its not too bad.

either way, im quite content to head down with just bthe missus, but also wouldnt mind others cruising with.

just hope its not raining...

facebook event was a good call, gf wont finish till 5 and thats in balmain..what are the chances of making it to the crossroads by 615?

(she has no sickies left..farken)

i know sweet F all right? still could be worth a shot..

is dave the only one leaving earlier?

Maybe get her to ask her boss nicely if she can leave an hour or 2 early.

I don't know what she does, but would it be possible to start a little early, so she can leave early?

Hope something can be organised.

Looks like I might be the only one leaving early Patty, the way I see it is I'd rather get down there at a reasonable hour, get settled, have a feed and a few bevvies then get to bed at a resonable hour.

I must be getting old :(

yeah i get your logic dave and would definitely be in the same boat (33 now arrrgh) except for the womans problems..typical eh?

she is prevaricating about coming anyway so depending on what goes down before next friday i might see you on the way there after all..

I will be leaving West Ryde area circa 2:30pm on Friday 18 May, hoping for a cruisey drive and 5:30-6pm arrival at Eagle Farm Hawk Caravan Park thingo with beer in hand shortly thereafter. Might see you on the Hume Dave074?!

I can guarantee I'll be sitting on the deck, feet up with brews in hand by then haha. I'm going down through the day too, if you want to tag along then cool

More than one brew at a time...excellent. By then I will have been (self imposed) 5 weeks off the grog so VERY thirsty.

what time and from where are you leaving Steveo?

    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
    • OK, so update from the track day on Friday It was a classic "an unfortunate series of events'. There were a few cars around and when i checked my mirror coming out of the fish hook I notice some smoke from the rear of mine. Looked again and it was getting much worse, I figured I'd blown a turbo or something to got off it and pulled off the racing line. However.... since it is a left hairpin into a right kink, I was on the inside of the next corner. There was a car passing me on the left and a big drop off over the ripple strip on the right......and someone had knocked the witch's hat that was on the apex about 1m onto the track. So, between those 3, I decided to mow down the cone and not damage my car/the other car. Right choice, but surprising result.  The car decided the cone was a small pedestrian so it blew the rear bonnet hinges up to protect their head in the upcoming person to car impact....I didn't see that coming and like an airbag deployment it happened super fast. Straight into the pits from there, everything was driving fine but it became clear it was a coolant leak not smoke, it was billowing up onto the windscreen. Onto the trailer and home. I'll do a separate thread about the repair (once I work out what it is ), but the immediate problem was the bonnet wouldn't open because the front was pinched onto the front bar and would not release. Ultimately we unbolted the hinge from the bonnet, pulled it back a little and it released from the front OK. "There's your problem", the top radiator hose had popped off at the radiator.
