300Rwkw Brake Requirements

Hey guys,

I have just fitted my R34 GTT with new RDA slotted rotors, redstuff pads and HEL braided lines. Has made a massive difference in feel and stopping power even though they are still bedding in. Just wondering if this setup will support the power figures I am chasing? Currently sitting arount the 200 mark chasing the 300 mark.

Of course it will, even standard brakes are fine..

How hard you brake is dependant on how fast you are going, not how much power you have, also no matter how much power you have your top speed is still limited by your gearing..

So basically if you find your brakes burning out because you are going too fast, and stopping too quickly repeatedly, then upgrade. Otherwise there is no reason you can't run 500kws and stock brakes, which on a skyline are pretty good from the factory..But yeah it is dependant on your driving not your power

Tyres & suspension also play a big factor in braking performance, not just the brakes themselves. Good tyres go a long way to improving how much of the brake pressure you can actually use.

Also if you are going hard on your brakes, I believe adding proper cooling ducts could be more beneficial in the short term than just getting bigger brakes..its a lot cheaper as well
