Odyssey batteries seem to be good, but they are pretty expensive :) Their CCA rating is pretty high too. A mate runs them on his Evo race car that is still road driven occasionally but it sits for long periods and still starts :)

yea i use a trickle charger on mine. good for the battery, and my alarm drains my battery pretty quick.. only probably drive mine once a fortnight or something...

i bought a new battery when i got it about 6 months ago, but i can remeber what i got, i just took it out and went to super cheap and got one that was of at least the same rating or better, and the same size of course...

Oh really? Well it's good to hear both sides!!! I considered it but the price was a bit rich...

What about those Optima's? Any better?

If Ash says a normal battery is fine, then I guess I'll grab a normal battery haha! I thought it's best to get something with a higher CCA rating (maybe 500+) but then again, I know nothing about car batteries.

I might just do what GTR-34A said and pull it out and take it to a shop.

yea mate mines been working fine for 6 months so far, it died once when i first got it and didnt have the trickle charger, since i have gotten the trickle charger i have had no problem... it died from my alarm draining it though.. it cost me around $150 from memory and had a CCA rating of 550 or 600+ maybe..

I am surprised you didnt get an Optima or something because they are Yellow Anthony :ph34r:

Yeah higher CCA is good, i got the highest that i could for my car in the size of the factory one but i doubt it will be enough in the long run.......

I'll most likely get a similar battery. Did you also get the trickle charger from SuperCheap?

yea mate, trickle charger was about $60 maybe?.. not too much, just plug into the wall and attach at the front etc... works well.

You can get a normal one with a decent CCA. They might not last as long as an Optima say (if they are not issue filled like my 2x Od were)... But when they are less than half the price type of thing... I'm sure you see where I'm going. :)

Don't get me wrong, the higher end batteries can be good/decent and they do pack more punch in a smaller housing type thing... But you can get quite a sizable battery in the back. I'll be visiting mine tomorrow so i'll try get a photo to show ya.

That and I had an expensive dry cell last two years of maybe 2-3 full discharges. I raged VERY hard. Of course the warranty had just elapsed.

      A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!

      Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
