definatly see JEZ - met him the other day, top bloke :-)

what was the date of this fang up the old pacific?

21st.... Just doing the details for it now....

No fang, just sensible driving

righto, won't be around :-(

i'm only in newe/foster for 1 more week (6-14th october) - so hopefully there will be 1 improtue cruise then.

Sound like you guys had a blurry night and Jarad needs to explain to his neighbour why theres a loaf of bread on his roof lol.

My family thing was about the same..pretty messy. One of my drunker cousins spent the night in an open drain/sewer lol

Where you going? I am sure someone will throw on a quick cruise.... I know i would if my car is done (Should be)

I told Jarrad to hammer throw the toaster next so they could at least make brekky with it

DUDE! Open sewer? lol

LOL Notsureifsrs.

Dude, you should have fetched him out of there for his own safety.... there'd be HIV positive syringes floating around open sewers (srs).

lolololol mannnn chookie had to remind me about that the next day. i look like i knocked myself out!!

joel msg me when you wanna go for a drive buddy.

You are one crazy kid! I give you that much......... :P

Guys, need another day or two before posting up the cruise thread as i gotta do a bit of scouting for the Route..... Maybe a ferry crossing involved (unless you own an R33 in which case you can drive across yourself) but i need to check if the roads are worth driving or not, will also need to work out timing and destinations for a feed. We have a start though so it wont take long, at worst ill do it Thursday as ill be at work late waiting for the Nats entries to open :P

IF we go that way.......

The Berowra ferry crosses Berowra Creek at Berowra Waters from Bay Road (Tourist Drive 11) to Berowra Waters Road. Information regarding the Berowra ferry service is displayed on variable message signs at Berowra Waters Rd, Berowra Heights and Bay Rd, Berrilee. Please note that trucks longer than 7 meters will not be able to approach the ferry due to road restrictions.

Operating Time:

24 hours, 7 days a week

Service Day:

Ferry services will not operate on the second Tuesday of each month between 12 noon and 2.30pm

Trip Duration:

3 mins (Please allow up to 10 mins waiting time)

If you are lowerd do not go near berowa i used to live on the river there boat access only and the ramps on and off are at sharp angles you will scrape. have scraped a standard falcon at low tide. and FFS another cruse b4 my car is ready :domokun:

ohh and not to mention, coming down the hill on the berowra side the road is a pig very narrow spots where only 1 car can get through at a time, other side tho well lets just say hill climb.

Good info, so IF we took that way are the roads WORTH driving? I like the sounds of "Hill climb"

Its just that if we do Galston Gorge i would rather not turn back and do the same road twice, rather do a differnent route back to Pacific Hwy.

Also, the ferry MAY make for some different photos?

I dont think any of us are excessively low? Martin (2 min noodle) is bringing supplies to fix it if its an issue :P

adam you can jump in with me!

if my gf is with me any of the boys will take ya if you dont wanna fight over the front seat hah :D. specially since its down the coast.

I would NOT be fighting her :P

I may take u up on that offer, altho i wont fit in the back seat of a skyline, my legs touch the dash in the passenger seat of my GTR with the seat all the way back, and my legs hug the steering wheel when im driving :P

you would be doing down the Galston side then if u where to come from wisemans, so it would be a bit of a downhill that part should be fun, the way up on the berowra side you would want to take slow but then the old pac going home...well everyone knows about the old pac thursday night runs

and if u have a fix for the ferry then no issues otherwise you would have to go out to hornsby and back up from there. But i know my GTR at 120mm off the pavement would scrape like a bitch on that ferry. Check the tide chart to make sure its not going to be low tide if it is stay clear.

Depends if we want to stop along the old pac at the cafe for breakfast or use the truckies lounge at the twins

Depends what time it will be too! And dont tell Chookie we are going down Old Pac as he will want to stop and buy 18 pies! :woot:

    • Yeah, nah. I had the actuator rod off it today. The arm will not move at all. Neither out, nor in. Yeah, you'd think so, but I've been thinking about that. Even when the actuator rod fell all the way off at the beginning of this saga, it would build more boost and faster in lower gears than it would in higher gears, and you'd think that that was the opposite of what should happen. But I strongly suspect that there is a thing with the gearing getting the revs to rise faster, that there must be some transient effect with the gas flow rate rising quickly, that you don't get with the more steady state case of the higher gears. Keep in mind - the gate is not shut in either of my weirdnesses. So things are not "normal". We normally think about a turbo spooling up (below the wastegate target) with the gate shut. I have all sorts of mental models running now where the gate is a little bit open, and having it stuck open allowing gas out while it should be going through the turbine has all sorts of weird effects (in these mental models). I'm thinking in the higher gears, the ex mani pressure builds to the point where enough gases spill out the wastegate to just prevent the pressure rising much more at all, or just creeping up, all the whole the revs are increasing and getting closer to the point where a gear shift becomes necessary.
    • Is it possibly wastegate actuator itself is sticking, or even the rod to flapper? Otherwise I reckon things are getting a bit rusty/worn   Also odd it won't boost in 3rd to 5th, but will in 1st, I'd expect the other way around with it slightly open as there's more time on your way to redline for it to spin up
    • Does anyone know ow what these two plugs are for and if they should be unplugged? Just put the dash back together and can't remember if these were plugged in before or unplugged! (Blue and white plugs) 🤦🏽‍♂️
    • Did some FASTing ...got the impression that the actual part# was a moot point ; seems all of these hardlines for coolant are discontinued/NLA... like, I take it you're after the hardline that bolts onto to the manifold...that's NLA according to amayama & nengun .... ...just to clear up some confusion, they typically mounted the AAC valve to the intake manifold somewhere near a coolant passage, so the body of the valve heats up & holds it open when engine's up to temp - no coolant flows through the valve, it's a mechanical, thermal connection.
    • And now the bloody flapper is jammed slightly open. Lazy as all f**k in 3rd-5th (very hard to convince it to make much boost before you run out of revs), but will make 12 psi in 1st, which shouldb't be possible with a 5 psi spring and controller set to <10 psi. Methinks I'm lucky it jammed where it did, rather than fully closed. It's actually a well weird situation. Careful examination of what's happening in the back of that housing when the gearbox comes out and all the other stuff (injectors, AFM retune) is supposed to be done, next week.
