Hi people, just want to get your experience or opinions. I've been told that the standard bushes in my front suspension has a crack in it. So .. I've been doing some research on replacing/upgrading the bushes and came across Super pro & Nismo. Other than the differences in materials (superpro is polyu & nismo - rubber), does anyone have an experience in comparing both in terms of feel or performance?

Also, where's the best cheapest place to buy them? I know of Supercheap Auto - is that the cheapest? Time isn't a factor.. I'm only planning to replace them in a couple of months.

poly is harder than rubber, so it won't flex as much. Which can be good as it reduces slight geometry changes under load (heavy cornering). The down side is the bushes absorb less vibration and impact, which means it is transmitted through to the body of the car.

Personally I would use poly on non-load bearing items, like sway bar bushes, but use rubber bushes on most other items. That said, plenty of people have used poly everywhere and seem to be happy with it.

Have a look on some of the USA sites. Energy Suspension make a lot of poly bushes for the G35/350Z for considerably cheaper prices. Whiteline here in Aust, also do a lot of poly bushes for the 350Z. Also look at some nissan/infiniti supplies in USA for factory items as they tend to be a lot cheaper than local dealer prices. Provided you can wait for it to arrive.

Hey,

Have a read of my thread (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/402404-stillen-sway-bar-problem/), it shouldn't be a problem with other parts where bushings are. But if you are changing sway bars and depending on their thickness, you're best to get the sway bar D bushings for it as well. Finding sway bars with the same thickness size as OE would be much better in the long term to source. Energy Suspension has a good range of products and that's probably where I'm gonna get my sway bar D bushings from. They have a complete kit of bushings for our cars as well, if that's what you're after.

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
