Just a quick question for those who imported their own v35's..

how long did it take to get to Australia?

including...time waiting to be shipped....time on the ship.....

reason I ask is..im importing my 2nd v35..and this time its been 2 weeks waiting for the "shipping schedule" to be announced...wtf? How long u guys had your v35's waiting at the port in Japan for?

cheers

Mine was bought from an auction and shipped and reached melbourne within about a month, but that was due to very helpful family members, but then its taken about 2 months now to go through customs and compliance because i imported a series 3 v35.

But have you tried to get in direct contact (phone not email) with who every is shipping the car from japan?

Yeah there was a series 3, i don't know how it was categorized but from what i can tell it was only 06 models, and there are 3 people in australia who can compliance them, 1 in Qld, 1 in Perth and now 1 in Melbourne.

Edit: I found some info about series 3

hey thanks for that info man...im going thru a custom broker...so they are handling all the shipping for me...but I'm just wondering because its been like 2-3 weeks and the car isn't even on a ship yet...is this normal??

I did have to wait about 2 weeks for my car to get on a boat but I was told which boat it would be on and when it was leaving just a few days after the auction. '2 weeks waiting for the shipping schedule' seems a little strange.

yeh to this point I still don't know which boat my car will be on because they are "waiting for the shipping schedule" to be announced...

sounds sus right?

I thought shipping schedules are put on a website somewhere for everyone to see....

    • From the factory on RB26s there's a fitting on the intake manifold collector/"plenum" that provides pre-throttle boost signal. That's how they did it back in the day, I figure it's fine to replicate it.
    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?

    • Mark's a bit smarter than people give him credit... He'd convince the person that is to become dead, to drive him to the forest first. That way his car has no evidence in it, and he's free to dispose of their vehicle permanently how he sees fit too...
    • But if you had to go bury a body in the forest, would you not put that in the boot? Most of them are >=90kg these days.
