Far out Sydney has gotten bad. Can't even drive your car around down there anymore.

Gotta be stressing to drive anywhere near Sydney now. We don't have these issues on the coast..... Yet!!

They hammered Newcastle for a while so i dont go there anymore, we used to have a whole bunch of imports on the foreshore every weekend until a bunch of Hockey Pucks in commodores started doing burnouts etc so the cops got the sh*ts and hammered every car with defects possible, funnily enough all the imports were generally parked and not doing cruise laps

they don't give my car a 2nd look.

if your car is very flashy and loud you are asking them to look at you in the first place, then you get angry that they do look at you.

My car is stock looking and sounding and i seem to get away without a drama since the new turbo etc BUT i am yet to be breath tested and stuff in it..... i swear its stock officer

It has only got that way due to some idiots behaving badly in public places, getting the media all hyped up :domokun:

I miss cruising Newcastle beaches etc, but it has now been ruined by morons!

The thing is if there is a defect station at bondi for example, there atleast 10cop cars driving around like flys stopping any car that looks "sporty"

Hell my mates bog stock r32 gtr got pulled over and told to follow them to the defect station

Gotta stay away from bondi/Brighton/city

Worst thing is you walk through carparks and see all the cars with bald tyres, rust holes and all sorts of messed up stuff, not one would be pulled over for EPA or Defects like we get targeted... And most people modify their imports for improvement in handling and braking etc.... It's a crap system!

Yeah had this argument with a cop. They are just a bunch of absolute morons.. They are quick to defect an import and pull all stops to get you, but when you've been rolled bashed robbed and bleeding they will deal with you when they can be bothered and end up telling you there is nothing they can do. But have a modified car its like your killing babies. Arseholes. I let them know it to.. doesnt do much but makes me feel better getting it off my chest.

I don't think giving them attitude helps, they have enough assholes to deal with on a daily basis... I'll

Just play nice when the time comes, and then I guess try get it all passed the legit way

Hey guys sorry to resurrect the thread; didn't want to start a new one and couldn't find answers to everything.

I have been given a notice to go be tested. I know for a fact that I won't pass noise as is. I have a few questions:

-Will they defect my atmo BoV? i know they will if they find it but do they look for that?

-Should I weld in my silencer? I have a feeling it still won't be quiet enough.

-Are there any mufflers out there that maintain decent performance while keeping under the legal limit of noise?

-How do they test for noise? how far back from the car is the soundmeter and is the test done outdoors? Just curious because I happen to have a soundmeter and would like to test on my own for a general idea

I read on the EPA website that there are fines (up to $400) for selling a car that doesn't meet the standards, I was sold this car with a shitty atmo BoV and this crappy loud-as-f**k muffler. I bought the car about 8 weeks ago and haven't done a blue-slip yet (interstate purchase). Does the previous owner have any responsibility here?

If anyone could shed some light here it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
