Series 3 R33 Gtr Gear Box

Hi all,

Have tried searching and could not find any info at all.

Just wondering how much power a R33 GTR series 3 box can generally handle, I know it depends on a number of factors but feedback from your experiences would be great.

Also what are the differences between a series 3 box compared to a 1 & 2 R33 GTR Box???

Pretty certain they have double syncros

Have had them last with 610rwhp at the track and street, but go to hard on 3rd and blow through it pretty easily.

I don't think u can put a figure on it

I've also broken one with only 400rwhp, if your ruff or careless they will break.

I thought all had double synchros on 1st and 2nd, and the R33 series 3 box also had doubles on third and forth.

Seen them break with as little as 370rwkw.

OK will take it easy on third, I drive like a grandma most of the time anyway

What does " Taking it easy" entitle on a gear box,

does changing gear at 8k at normal pace mean easy, or keeping under a citiran load/rev limit.

i mean, Not everyone has to slam the gear stick into gear as hard and fast as they can. you can still go fast and respect the car if you get my jist

yeah just don't slam gears too fast and nice and smooth on the clutch... and box should be fine
