Hey guys,

I'm doing some homework in relation to putting to use an unused indicator on my 2009 V36's combination meter ("Cruise") but I'm going to need to get inside the meter and isolate it for this purpose as the Cruise indicator seems to be governed by the CAN bus. As I like to actually plan my projects before I embark on them, I was hoping someone already has taken one apart or otherwise has some kind of circuit schematic for it.

And as a side thought, I figured while I'm at it, I may as well do something about replacing the 180km/h speedometer in it as well. There don't seem to be a lot of options out there other than to obtain a US model cluster or an Impul aftermarket job. If I were to go the US path, the question then is how complex would that task be and would the wiring even be compatible to begin with? I have my doubts but I'm holding out hope there. Then there is also the compatibility of the actual LCD display and whether or not it will still display the messages and if so, will it be in English or Japanese? I figure that the languages would be built into the meter itself as it translates the CAN bus data but again, it's a question of whether or not that CAN bus data is compatible from region to region.

If I were to go aftermarket though, are there any other options out there aside from shelling out over US$1000?
