As a few people know, I organized a mini combined JDMST & SAU meet to Lakeside Restaurant. I was initially P!$$3D off since there were so many no-shows, didn't pick up my calls or tell me they weren't turning up.

To the guys who notified me beforehand and on the day, much appreciated (seriously) and this does NOT go out to you guys. To those guys who failed to tell me that they are dogging it, seriously guys, it isn't that hard and no shame in telling someone you aint going. That cost me a few hundred bucks since I booked for quite a number to accommodate all of the people expected. If you're not going to go, don't say you're going and no-show with no contact.

/endrant.

Anyways on a brighter side, despite a few hundred down the drain, it was quite a good day with Terry's N1 being the main attraction of the day along with my N/A R34 auto (yes, auto). I'm not a pro photographer, just a kid with a 7D, so here's my shots of the day, raw and undedited.

Hmm I should have went to this instead of going to the car inspection i told you about. It was a total fail.

Looked like a good turnout, props to organising :)

haha what happened with the inspection? A fast looking lemon?

The civic owner is front right of the group shot right?? Just stereotyping. :)

You're stereotyping serves you well :)

Twas great to meet new friends in Ricky, Richard, Daniel, Reece and Co/ladies!!!

Great conversations about cars n ppl :)

Great day out :)

Great venue!

Yeah man, gotta say you're an awesome guy. Most of the Asians, especially chinese are, you know, typical asian parents. So not what I had expected (in a good way haha).

Too funny, I look like that as well, but I've never owned any form of Honda OR FWD vehicle EVER lol.

Looks like a nice turn out mate even with the no-shows, and good job on the photos!

Thanks man :)

Omg i just can't believe how rude people can be.I am just the opposite,if i say i'm coming i am.

I'm sorry you got pooped on,look forward to meeting you at some stage :D

Yeah haha, didn't let that ruin my day though, money can't buy a great day. Where are you from?

Lemon + I've seen 20 year old cars look better then that lol.

Richard a mate of yours? He went to my school.

My gf knows him and we both on JDMST so just invited him haha. You went to CHS?

Like what you've done to the centre caps on the LMGT4s :)

Very much appreciate your discriminating eye! :)

PLYNX aka Pete is helping me out by fabricating LMGT4 GT500 centre caps right now too.

    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
