Hey guys,

I am looking for a genuine R34 GTR oem plastic lip as pictured below.

It must not have any splits or fractures, so don't bother posting or contacting me if it does. I don't mind scuffs or slight scatches pending photos of said lip to show extent of damage.

I am willing to pay reasonable money for a reasonable condition lip. I am located in Sydney so can pickup if the part is also in Sydney, or will pay postage if interstate.

So if you have one lying around, or know someone who does, please contact me and we can go from there.

Cheers

What I did was buy a whole R34 GTR front bar in order to get the lip. Original plan was to take the lip off and sell the bar by itself.

Wound up finding a good condition lip seperately. Got it sanded and resprayed by TM Smash - good price and quality work - car is white.

Cheers elir32; Owgasm said in one of his threads his new one was invoiced $12xx so I was avoiding that option, but $920 is more appealing. But after completely obliterating my last one at a track day, I don't really want to put $920 down for the same thing to happen (as much as I do try to avoid coming off, sometimes shit happens :/).

nick_7g - Have been trying to get sellers to separate their painted lips but no dice. Would buy whole set up if lip was as above i.e. plastic finish. I was avoiding painting examples due to slight scuffs that might occur from tracking (chipped paint isn't the best look) but on straight plastic, it isn't as obvious. Based on your experience, did you have any trouble selling the bar by itself? Or is it best to wait for a lip on its own/someone willing to seperate from front bar?

Thanks again for both your inputs

I wound up getting the lip separetely as well as a diffuser from the same person.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to sell the bar without the lip, might be tough, but anythign sells at the right price. You have to factor everything in to the purchase price. This is how I look at it:

Buy a front bar with lip for $450 (e.g. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/408797-r34-gtr-parts-for-sale/)

Take the lip off and get it sanded and resprayed or finsihed however you like for ~$150

You could easily sell the front bar without the lip for for $200-250 (e.g. this one sold for ~$300-350 im guessing http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/379480-r34-gtr-front-bumper-bar/)

The lip winds up costing you $350-400 after the respray of the lip and resale of the front bar, which is still a lot cheaper than a new $900 one which is unpainted/unfinished. If you can sell the front bar for a bit extra, then it costs you less.

Best of luck with everything.

^^ Cheers nick_7g. Have considered this option but already have two front bars lying around - I don't really want a third haha. I'll just be patient and hope a seperate lip appears.

Still looking though if anyone has one they would like to sell.

Thanks again for your input elir32 but as above; I don't want more front bars cluttering up space. Your logic goes for your mate as well but the decision is ultimately his call. I do appreciate your help all the same.

There are a couple of these bar & lip combos floating around Sydney area so if I do go down this path, I'll keep it local to avoid postage of such a large and fragile part (guessing your mate, like yourself is from SA).

Only really considering interstate postage for the lip only.

Cheers

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
