It's a real nice shock when you first squat in weighlifting shoes if you've been doing it in runners.

I used to squat barefoot until a month ago.

Got some squat shoes, they are amazing. Suit my needs perfectly and I'm not sure why I didn't purchase any sooner.

I was using the DO-WINS for a long time.

But have turned to flat shoes like chucks in the last 6 months or so.

I have 2 pairs of chucks and an older pair of Levis flat shoes of all things.... and these are the ones I lift in.

it just feels like a better fit.

For sale - one pair of Do-Wins lol

I have a few guys with the Adidas Adipower in here. Great shoe as the heel isnt as high as others

Keep them Tolga, Nina and Max have gone back and forth so often, but both are in flats now

The raised heel takes a lot of stress off my hamstrings, activating quads more, which is the main factor for me.

I used barefoot shoes before hand, 4mm flat sole, thought they were solid platform before the adipowers.

I've got no idea how unstable people in runners must feel.

The guy in the ab shot is Martin, he has dropped from 86kg to 79kg so he can lift in the 80kg class at ProRawFive, he needs the money

His best lifts this week were 220kg squat, 147.5kg paused bench and 281kg deadlift

    • I mean I agree. I've seemingly never had issues and I have RS4's in the rain, but I drive pretty slow in the rain, and I commute around on the street and pretty much never push it. But it's not like you're going to uncontrollably slide off the street with them in the rain. At least here in Aus. And I say this before I drive to Tassie in Winter. AS above, the term "Semi" is a bit of a misnomer. The ContiSportContact7 is also a "Semi" or a "UHP" tyre. It's the same category as an AD09 in any case.
    • These are not semis. None of the tyres in that comparo are semis. They are UHP tyres. Perfectly streetable. I'm on my second set of AD09, after using a couple of sets of AD08R. On the street. Every day. I get 15-20 thousand km out of them, which is perfectly acceptable. They are a really nice tyre to drive on. I have few, if any, complaints.
    • You'd hope, if it came from ACS, that it wouldn't be that.
    • Or the brand new throwout may be unhappy...
    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
