Hey guys,

Sorry to post a new thread as I've already posted this in the wanted to borrow thread, but this is urgent and I'm aware some people probably won't look in the other thread.

So basically my car is booked in for a tune on the 24th of Sept, but I have lost the valve seat from my Turbosmart Compgate 40 and no dealers in Perth will have any in stock for 2-3 weeks. Obviously without this I won't be making any boost, so the tune is pointless and I will miss out on Powercruise. If anyone has one I could borrow so I can get my car tuned, I will be your best friend!!

Either PM me or send a text on 0431047984. Cheers guys!

Martin.

This time, its probably not the fact that no one likes you but that no one has one.....

They're a popular gate, I'm sure someone somewhere has one. Also, that first reason you mentioned is just preposterous :P

Have you tried an Eastern States supplier?

That will fit in a 1kg overnight airbag, delivered before 12:00 next day, usually before 10:00 ....

Yeh I've tried, it seems nobody keeps any stock. Turbosmart HQ said they would need to get it in from overseas. Australian product with no product in Australia, it's great.

Is that the O ring sits inside the gate and seals against the piston? I can make you one out of stainless steel for $60 express posted. Funny how many people have lost that part.

PM sent, thanks Stao.

Indeed :D

Car made 350rwhp @16psi. Also made 350rwhp @20psi, so it's got a restriction holding it back somewhere. But it will do for now :D It'll still be at Powercruise making a bit of noise ;)

Ahh I think I might remember your car there! I remember seeing a 34 that I was pretty sure was stock. If we end up on the track together we shall have to have some runs! You know... for science ;)

A quick question.

after i got my car back it does what i think to be excessive backfireing when revving down.

Say im coming to a set of lights, 3rd down to 2nd , with 2nd starting at 3000 revs, it backfires all the way down from 3000 to 1000.

Now its not just 1 backfire, its several and only happens when my foot is NOT on the accelerator.

My guess is to much fuel while decelerating?

( it does sound cool.....but gets anoying...)

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
