After what feels like a lifetime my gtr is nearing completion.

attached are pics of the build.post-26806-0-93711300-1348147246_thumb.jpgpost-26806-0-30433000-1348147305_thumb.jpg

rwkw exceeded 330kw at 12 pound of boost with recent dyno tune however Throttle position sensor was faulty and dyno tune subsequently aborted. I managed to find the only new tps switch in aus and she's back on the dyno tommorrow and we should no doubt see more than 400 at the wheels on modest boost. it had 280kw at 9 pounds

It seems every sensor this car had has gone faulty, i have now had to replace, 02 sensor, all the wheel sensors and im now up to my third cam sensor(brand newy on the way)

I 'm no expert and whilst i have had many doubts over the direction the build was going over all this time,

the team at JPC (johnsons performance centre) have truly exceeded all my expectations with the final product.

I chose JPC because i have know them since i was 18 (i'm 36 now) and rememeber there cars been big news at the drag strip.

They've always struck as very switched on and knowledgeable and most of all, you never feel they are taking advantage of you.

Initially i did everything i could to gather parts and reduce the cost however everything i bought was ditched by JPC for something

bigger/stronger/hardier and obviously better on sight alone, hence i eventually stopped throwing my two cents in and went with everything they said.

Some of you may recognise the engine covers appearing an engine that was newly built and for sale on this forum several years ago, i was silly enough to pay upwards of 7k and buy that supposedly properly built engine. all that remains of that engine are the worlds most expensive timing gears and rocker covers, i had hoped all i would need to do was change cams and stick my sump on it - yeah right......

anyway car now sports the following:

rb30 block (not o ringed)

cp pistons and rings (NOT CHROME MOLLY)

custom cams

race ported head

custom split pulse exhaust manifold

Hypertune plenum (maintaining 6 throttle body set-up)

JPC modified Garret TO4z

Vipec v88

M&w ignition system

Bosch 1000 cc injectors

N1 oil pump with JPC's billet gears(this stops it breaking like everyone else's)

JPC modified Hi-octane sump

HKS fuel rail

Garret 100mm intercooler

race radiators radiator and thermo fan

PPG dog box

os giken triple plate clutch

Quaife ATB front diff

Battery now sits where left hand rear passenger once sat and there is a custom aluminium fuel tank in the boot. Used to be small but the guys welded on another section to make it more than 60litres and incorporated the surge tank into th bottom of it.

Suspension is Bilstein, with various whitleline and cusco control arms etc

front Upper contral arms are the "pivoting" UAS(unique auto sports) adjustable ones - might mate hearney reckons he'll never leave for a track day without them again.

Brakes are AP 6 pots with Strap drive rotors at the front and Ap four pots at the rear. Abs and brake booster have been removed

and Race brakes has reconfigured the braking system and fitted a balance bar.

The guys at JPC, having worked with rb's since the 80's have obviously experienced oil control issues on RB's more than anyone.

in this regards they seem to have taken no chances with the oil breather system/catch can set up. I think i counted about 5 tanks, it is also plumbed back to the sump and a set of Mine's baffles sit inside the rocker covers. (i would hope that should cover it).

The factory loom has pretty much gone, what you seen was compiled by Al at Jpc. he seperated the attessa part and pretty much dumped everything else and made up a new loom from scratch to run the vipec/engine/lights. the Attessa part will be pretty much gone soon also but more on that later

car is pretty much stock on the outside, i did buy all the window moulds brand new from nissan, including a set of rear quarter windows. I dont think i need to tell people how much this car has cost, you can probably figure it out yourselves, hence may as well make it look worthy of the cost, i hate ratty moulds/garnishes.

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
