Not physically but morally. Off the ROTA bandwagon and all aboard the COR wagon!

This dude over at NAGTROC/GTR Life had a set of wheels explode on him and the company blamed him. Now with a response like that from the company, you would think twice about ROTAs (in a good way) as I haven't heard any such low stories about them.

bloody hell...

Guy is lucky to be alive...

Personally, I think COR should have just paid for all the damages...

This is going to cost them so much more now, especially in terms of sales.

I mean who is going to buy a set of COR wheels after seeing that?? No one!

The spokes are way to thin for what i'd imagine is a cast wheel, it would be borderline even for a forged wheel. You can see it broke right after the radii on the wheel centre which is where it sees the most stress and where it should be designed stronger.

Wouldn't even use these wheels if they were given to me.

wow, cor has let this one get out of control. social media is a powerful little nugget that should not be kicked.

cor most likely thought that the wheel breaking off was going to be bad for business so they argue the point with owner, far enough, but changing the wording on the warranty to suit the outcome that cor would desire, definitely stinks.

The fall out from it all will leave a stale taste in peoples mouths and they'll talk with there wallets

indeed, this will definitely affect all their sales.

as someone who is only getting into cars, i can now cross off a brand of rims from any prospective list. that's one lost prospective customer right here.

hmmmmm...

Poor COR... I think they will realize too... Much easier to give the poor bloke a brand new set of wheels than have all this media posted about them...

It's obvious which will cost them more in the long run.

I can't believe they tried to push the whole track v's street caveat. What a bunch of nobbers, not only does it not make sense from a design point of view, why would you brush aside the considerable slice of the market who wants to track their car at some point.

It's the kind of thing Today Tonight would try to do.

Also, the thing I find funny, if the wheel had exploded on the street and say, caused a fatality, there would be a huge stink made about it, people would probably end up in gaol, and certainly there would be million dollar compensation claims, but since it happens at the track, meh, no one cares, let the hoons kill themselves they say.

      It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!

      The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.

      What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
