let me direct you here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/103095-rb20-turbo-upgrade-all-dyno-results/

no motor is the same and you need to be more specific on which turbo you are going to use and what you want to achieve

set a goal first of what you want to achieve or yule just end up chasing your tail.

hey mate,

i had this dilemma two years ago for my 32. if you ask questions like what turbo and how much kw to expect on these forums you will get heaps of smartarse comments, like 70 for each coilpack etc. seriously though look through the thread relating to turbo upgrades page for rb20det. it will give a good idea as to what supporting mods people have and the power they are making.

firslty what other mods does the car already have?? do the little things first if you havnt already turbo back exhaust, kn filter for the standard airbox, fuel pump upgrade, intercooler upgrade and possibly clutch upgrade. if your car has these already your well on your way.

secondly, save your arse off!!!! i cant stress this enough, pick a budget.....a large one, not like 1500, and do everything at once, and once only!! remember not as simple as just buying a turbo and sticking it on, you need to consider what you want from the car and your budget (thats what a good tuner/mechanic's first question will be). out of this allow 25-30% for install. so if you have a budget of 10k, 3k of that will be install. if your upgrading the turbo, might as well think about ecu, afm, injectors also and posssibly the use of a good boost controller at the same time. they all work together to achieve what you want. save time, and money tuning it once.

thirdly, pick a tuner/mechanic, someone who has worked on skylines before or import nissans, they can answer any questions you have and have knowledge of what works well for your situation. its easier to use one who can install and tune, saves time and money and transporting the vehicle all over the place.

fourth, save your arse off!!! being a bit repetitive here, but save your arse off and do it all at once. id allow at this point an additional 10-15% to your budget for overlooked things like new water pump kit, spark plugs, oils, hicas lock etc

pm me if you have more questions mate, im happy to help and wont give smartarse comments.

this is the way i did it and im extremely happy with the outcome, all hassle free as well. went over my budget by about 1k but it was that 10-15% which i had overlooked.

hope this helps you a little

mick

ps i originally went in thinking i was just going to swap my engine (rb20 with 300000kms on it) to a fresher one, car came back to me with rb25 upgrade and all the bits and pieces - 270 rwkw, very responsive. figured might as well go all out and splash some cash on it, its easy to get the spending bug once you speak to your tuner lol, but glad i did it.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
