okay, I earthed the solenoid properly, dude before me did a bad job, the top line goes the plumb back off the bov, and the bottom line is blocked off, yet to take it for a drive, should I be getting 7 psi?

As in my PM response, there shouldn't be anything blocked off.

After having got the idle down to roughly normal on the Wagon, I checked the timing again this arvo, it was down to 100 so I bumped it back up to 200ish.

Current tank is 98 with some Nulon injector cleaner in it.

It now has more pickup again! :woot:

Slowly she is coming back to life.

Mik and I (mostly Mik) did some more work on the SkyWagon's Strut Brace today too. (I'll let Mik post the pics)

Spent yesterday putting my old car back together and primer filling the front bar so I can sell it and free up some cash for the GTR :)

Only have to sand and spray the front bar, new rear suspension and sway bar, top up fluids, full alignment and put tyres back on the freshly powder coated rims

Ok, done, its ready for ginding.

Here, its done.

Goodnight, see you soon.

Did you tack the welds with the bar in place on the car? I only ask as I noticed the battery terminals were still connected - should be disconnected if welding.

We did tack it on the car...

We didn't disconnect the Batty. :(

Keep that in mind for next time hey?

The sheet we threw over the engine caught fire right above the fuel filter.

Yeah it was a bit of a "Holy Sh!t FIRE!!!" moment. :D

Good info on the battery thing. Thanks mate.

I thought you were gonna say it may fry the ECU.

batteries can explode, step father was a bolier maker by trade and that was rule number 1 when working on vehicles. I heard it happen on a quad bike once at Goulburn tafe - some guys were doing a quick repair, when off like a bomb... seat was on, but still it made a mess.

Ahh.... i thought it was just danger of the gas igniting.

A boiling exploding battery in the face would be.... um..... bad.

Good tip to remember, thanks.

And i think i should get some protection, some welding mats and an apron.

And something to stop those hot bits going down inside my boots. Ow!

My rear speakers have not worked since i bought my car, the rear speakers are standard and in bad shape. I bypassed my stock amp using this method http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/203299-r32-factory-amp-bypass-diy/

After bypassing the amp the rear speakers still did not have any power, I then pulled out the head unit to reveal a real birds nest of twist and tape wiring with only the front speakers being wired in.

I printed off a wiring diagram to work out whats going on - http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Nissan-Wiring.pdf

So now i find that the nissan wire colours are all wrong and some doubled up according to 2 different wiring diagrams.

I have checked the wires going into all the speakers and noted down the colours, barely any of these colours match up with to the wires behind the stereo.

If anybody thinks they would be able to help sort this out please PM me.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
