You disagreeing with what I'm saying? :S It seems people are not understanding what I am saying. It is REALITY that people do it. I'm not hiding the fact that everyone is a little angel on the road, becuase they're not- so instead of covering up what people do, I am explaining to do it in the safest place - and I'm not referring to burnouts and fishys. I'm talking about putting your foot down going 20km/h the speed limit of 80/90km/h

It seems that everyone is acting like their an angel on the road who drive like a grandma LOL

when you have your kids in the back, you take a pretty negative approach to people putting them at risk... I've done my pennance when it comes to being foolish on the streets. I've learnt my lesson by way of fines and supensions - don't want any more of that thanks.

im not talking about drifting or anything. Either way. Id rather a Learner learn from someone before they go out by themselfs. I have no idea why they dont teach controlling a car sideways for your L's. Similar to the stay upright course for bikes but for cars they teach you how to drift basically.

And jeremy i agree with you i terms of putting your foot down a bit. But alot of drivers (including open license) will have no idea what to do the same as a L plater.

I can kinda understand why they don't have anything for L-Platers. I see a TON of driving instructors on the roads and I can assure you they won't be allowing people to do stupid stuff. and I guess the Government thinks that the responsible driver when driving with an L-Plater will be... smart to not allow their inexperienced driver to do stupid things. Thus, the P-off course being open to P-Platers - but I fear this course gives over-confidence to the driver.

I think they should bring driving into schools - if it meant an extra $100-$500 in school fees for the year from Year 10 - I'd rather my kids learn to drive at school instead of doing sports trips / weekend at the snow (needless to say- our year 10 banned the snow trip due to.. well stupidity).

I can understand that - but it's a cycle. When you were being foolish - I guess the people around you felt the same about their kids in the back - you understood the risk / learnt your lesson and now you're that guy with kids in the back. I do not have kids, so I cannot really comment on the thought of having little ones in the back - however, as I stated before - I personally put my foot down when their are no cars in front of me or close enough behind/ around me to be in an accident. There is always a time and place for things - which the track is best suited for but when reality kicks in - the street is where most poeple do stupid things - so if you are going to be stupid.. cause damage to only yourself.

And just to clear it up - I'm talking about accelerating and not drifting / burnouts - that should be done in a closed off area where it's policed safetly.

Either way the difference between a P plater and an L plater is a peice of paper. both have almost no experience.

Anyway what did i do to my car? ummmm

Wash, wax, buff, wax, buff, wax, buff detialed the black bits, cleaned windows, cleaned interior.

Now im waiting for my bits from RHD to arrive =D should be in the next week or two.

There isn't any law that states how fast you can accelerate. As long as you don't spin rubber. Suppose cops could say dangerous driving but eh. Everyone does it anyway. To say they don't is a lie.

The ammount of stupid shit i see on the roads here in canberra is crazy. I was on my way to work and got overtaken on the monaro hwy by an X5 doing at least 140. And a swift was doing at least 130 this morning.

Cops have many terms they can book you with - "intent to race" is one of them - I believe a mate of mine got done under this ruling.

I still can't over the fact that people pull over when it rains here - I'm gobsmacked everytime.

What did I do to my car today? Drove it to work - Keeping on topic of course :D

no - all mine was done late at night and often outside of town (can you imagine getting done at 3am middle of the week...) if we went off the road, the only thing we would hit is perhaps a sheep or cow after going through the fence (I spent my youth in Goulburn). it was always slow running chucking laps...

That defensive driving course should be a mandatory part before getting your p's.

Speeding does't kill it just increases the risk, negligence and not driving to the conditions are much bigger factors. Our cars handle and brake so much better than when the speed limits were enforced. However since there are still cars on the road that are from that era it still should apply or a slow lane.

All these advertisments that focus on speeding alone is misleading. How about more on negligence not just being on phones or tired. How about "generally not paying attention" or going through corners in the wet as fast as your would in the dry and your tyres are terrible.

I drive to the conditions around me; roads, traffic, weather etc. I also adapt to my conditions and possible distractions, tired, car full of people etc.

This ^^ So much this ^^

i am yet to be in any form of accident. Though the amount i have missed i cant count. it's all about being aware. The DAY i got my GTR back from it's work i had to slam on my brakes because a pathfinder decided to go through both lanes of a roundabout with me next to him. I was coming into the roundabout and thought "there is no way pathfinder can take this corner at this speed". I backed off enough so the front my of car was just behind him. And there you go cut across my lane. That would have been a write off then and there.

People just need to wake the fk up.

"speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you." - Jeremy Clarkson

yh spot on check out the autobahn if you do a ratio to how many people use it as a percentage of the accidents. I reckon the percentages would be very close to that of the roads with 110kn/hr.Its only that if an accident occurs its quite ugly. If people get used to speed, the skill becomes a reflex. Sometimes people crash because theyre shitting their pants , theyre afraid to get caught and they were never taught how to drive at 180 adrenalin is pumping through the roof.

    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
    • Any idea where I can get genuine MAF apart from used ones? I can't find any only for GTRs and unfortunately that price is not in my budget 🤣 I might gap my plugs down and put my splitfires in, they were only in for a year or so before I started the rebuild
