Big Brake Group Buy #2 - Skyline / Silvia / Stagea / Wrx / Evo / All Makes/models

Recommended Posts

Ok sweet - I will update thread over the weekend.

Full money ready once we have 10 people for the next batch. Nothing required until then (I will PM everyone once we get close to 10ppl to remind) :)

How far does the caliper on the 356mm setup protrude perpandicular to the mounting face of the disk? Just trying to work out of these will clear the spokes on my high-offset RPF1's, as I needed an ~8mm spacer to clear my stock GTT brakes.

There was some info on it, in the first thread:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/413182-big-brake-group-buy-skyline-silvia-stagea-wrx-evo-all-makesmodels/

Have a read and see if it covers the question, if not post up again and see if we can search for more detail :)

Thanks for that Nismoid.. I did see the post towards the end of that thread from Aaron.. Are there technical drawings available of the kits from D2? I really only need two measurements, caliper protrusion from face of disk hub, and radial distance of caliper from center of disk. Sorry for the big ask, I really want to run these wheels without spacers and if I can manage this with a brake upgrade then its win win!

Paul - Had a chance to call past IM yet to see about 380mm?

Everyone else - Updated as below.

Thanks for that r31, ill just get the anodized black 356mm for a r32 Gtr, when would you like the deposit

Added on - Race pad is $150 extra. Ok with that?

Deposit - not required. No money until we get to 10 people, I'll PM everyone once we get to 8 so you can get pennies ready

I'll put an order in for Anodized Black 356mm fronts with race pads for an r32 gtst, with delivery to Brisbane.

Hi Guys

D2 got back to me with templates for the 356mm 8 piston fronts. As it says on the doc, it's a guide and can't be used as gospel - ie if you have a bee's dick between the template and the spokes then a real world test fit would obviously be a better option :)

Cheers

Aaron

    • I'll get one of these also just for giggles
    • I bought 6 new spark plugs to compare readings. They will be here tomorrow and ill see if meter is far off if it all. I know one is at least reading 0 so its best replace all anyway if one is bad, from experience. I still have to test the harness just to be sure its not a double issue and I waste my time haha-the old plugs are iridium I always thought those lasted more than 50,000 km.
    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
