Mine is... If you buy a dieline or any import for that matter from interstate can you get RWC anywhere in the act or does it have to go to dickson? Also whats the rule with FMICs?

Cheers

When I moved from Perth to here my GTR was registered in WA. I took it to Ultimate Tunes, they did an inspection etc. I took the paperwork to Woden and had the plates swapped over that day.

Not sure about the FMIC.

hmm thats what i thought the go was but i was being told differently with the RWC... Interestink.

I believe it's *SUPPOSED* to go to Dickson, however if you get somewhere else to do the inspection then you should be fine. Mine didn't go over Dickson when i got the rego changed from QLD to ACT.

ACT gov website uses the words MUST go to Dickson in big bold print.

People have had interstate cars changed to act through normal inspectors and dickson...

I got one of my cars from nsw to act through a normal inspector.

As for fmic, the rule is if the car came with a fmic oem ie skylines and silvias etc they have a front facing intercooler outside the engine bay then you are allowed one as long as your intercooler piping and core has not required your reo or chasis cut to fit it, for skylines you can put your cold pipe through the floor pan as long as its not going to effect the structure of the plate under the washer bottle, or through the side just above the chasis rail providing there is still metal attached to the rail (a inch is enough above it)

Hope it helps

It's definently a nice car, but I don't just wanna make an impulse purchase. It's under consideration for sure, but I'm still keeping my options open because I'm in no hurry.

have you had a peak at it? its a very nice example of an evo!

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
