http://uprev.com/UpdateFiles/software/Osiris%20User%20Guide.pdf page 9 explains the unmarrying.

To return an ECU to stock you simply need to use the latest version of Osiris and flash the ROM

named “XXXXX Back To Stock.OsirisROM” where XXXXX is your ECU part number.

After the flash has completed, Osiris will automatically transfer your license off of your ECU and

put it back on your cable so it will be ready to flash your ECU later, or be transferred to another

vehicle

the thing is, it makes easier for Sheldon to swap exhaust/spacer to a Brissie/GC buyer by organising a visit to a workshop....saves time in packaging....

Edited by shiva

Haha i was gonna try out bid you for the exhaust but felt a bit dirty seeing as you got in first

Seems like money talks, so maybe you should chuck a price in!

Badluck Sean, that stings, i know you've been after one of these for a while.

Maybe you should start having a chat to some reputable exhaust shops? I am confident there are talented enough fabricators right here in Australia who could put together an excellent system for a competitive price. It might not have the brand name, but at least you can design it exactly how you want. I know I'd change a few things about the design of mine if I could!

GLW sale of your car Sheldon, i know it's inconvenient but the only time i've ever come close to breaking even on a car is when i've stripped the parts and returned to stock. I wish I knew more about the value of the work you'd put into yours when I was in the market - it would have been a great buy at the current price. Kinda worries me that the market is so soft......looks like i'll be in for the long haul with mine!

Yeah, thats the problem Mat. People who are buying V35's (or cars in general) don't completely understand what my car (or any car) contains when it has aftermarket mods. I only got the best parts for it and researched it like crazy. To them its just an aftermarket exhaust and they don't really put value onto it.

I think I might have found a buyer for my car now that its semi stripped, so here's hoping for the best.

If I didn't have mine, I would be after yours. Has alot of the work done that I wanted done. Problem with selling a modified car is that you immediately alienate potential buyers who think that a modified car is owned by a hoon who limiter bashes it everywhere. On top of that, there are those people (like me) who prefer building it themselves. So that kills your potential market straight away. But it is a beautiful specimen of a V.

If i was buying a lightly modified car i wouldn't be too worried, and just by speaking to the seller you can generally tell what sort of person they are then you could guestimate how well they treat their property and obviously by looking at it in the flesh.

Yeah Mat, i emailed Coz this morning just to get a rough idea what it'd cost me on a brand new setup same as what Sheldon has. I've asked him to look after me, since i've spent close to 5k with him in the last 6 months so we'll see how that goes. If i can't justify it, i'll go a bit cheaper and probably grab a ARK grip exhaust or Invidia i quite like the sound of both of them. If i didn't plan on selling my car in 12 months once i'm off these silly p plates i would put more money into it. But, it's pointless.

I love my V! Don't get me wrong. I'll buy another V one day and do the same thing to it. My SGV35 plates are currently sitting on my wall next to a 1m canvas print of my car, haha. Looking forward to breaking them out again and using them on my next V :)

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
