Hey lads,

My 1992 R32 Gts-t is suffering from what seems to be a dead power window motor of the passenger side window.

Thinking this was a dead power window motor as this car is getting old, I purchased a working order power window motor off the exact same model as mine from a respected user of this site.

After installation, the power window still won't budge. Could there be a fuse or a electronic problem I have overlooked or missed?

This issue is very minor in terms of cars mechanics but very crucial as I can not take the car anywhere with my power window left open.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Cheers!!!

yeh mate, more than likely the power window amp has blown, the drivers door is the actual switch box itself, passenger doors there is a black relay box in the door.

Before going out and buying power window motor always test the motors as they are a few parts that rarely break in these cars. its usually the relay boxes.

If your window is stuck in the down position:

1. Remove door card

2. Find connector clip for power window motor

3. Using multimeter, locate your +12v and GND wires (alternatively remove your car battery and place it near the door)

4. Make a connection between the +12V/GND and the connector clip. Make sure you only tap the wires to the connector clip at first because you may make the motor wind down while it is already down. If this happens, just reverse the + and - wire.

    • Welcome. Dont let anyone dissuade you from your dreams. If you want a gtr, keep sabing and you will eventually get one. I feel like if I had have bought stocks, those companies would have gone bust and I would have lost my money.  There's a gamble in everything we buy. I've had good times and bad. But... I've also met my absolute best friend through this network and can't imagine life without them(more like a brother). Keep in mind, some specific mods will change as technology gets better. If you feel like general chat, there's always the wasteland.....
    • Those are some very cutesy barriers! Is that common?
    • Saw this abandoned Honda Fit in a carpark that was getting repaved... they just 'cut around it' and continued with the job! There's a number of reasons why the car could have been abandoned, but as for the construction company, legally they don't have permission to move the car from the owner (who has moved on and can't be contacted) so all they can do it just leave it there with enough space around it so it won't get damaged.
    • You’ll want to have the block drilled and tapped to suit 1/2in head studs and the head for the same. How much power do you intend to make?
    • Sorry for resurrecting an oldish thread Not much has happened in the past year since the last update. The car did another 1000 miles or so and failed the MOT for the first time in October (failed on tyres which had been advised for a couple of years) In October the car got put up for sale and was removed in November due to no interest, being so close to christmas it was to be expected. The roads were dry in February so I decided to tax it early and get the new tyres fitted.   Fast forward to April, I got someone in to give the car a good clean after sitting for the winter.                                 The car got re-advertised and today (Saturday 3rd May) the car sold. The new owner is planning a GTR conversion at some point and a respray in the same pearl white. It's bitter sweet, it's a shame to have the car sit there for half the year and then only do 1000 miles. The kids are growing too quick and space in the back is getting limited. It's been a great 6.5 years of ownership
