Hi all.

Good to be back on here again.

I have noticed more so in the last few months (maybe I'm going crazy) that when im in drive wheather it be sports shift or normal, that when im cruising on 60 kp/h and then floor it (foot to floor), it take at least 1.5 seconds to actually drop to a decent gear and take it, when it does its brutal.

Anyone know anything you can do to eleviate this problem.

I drive the VE Commodore as Police cars and they are pathetic with the lag when flooring literally feels like dough, and I'm disappointed that my car is now like this.

I have a Transgo shift kit in, wheather or not that is causing any problems I am unsure.

Love to hear your input all.

Thanks!

The RE5 box's downfall is the Transmission TCU, it is the reason the shifts take so long, not the actual gearbox. I just wish someone had cracked the TCU to speed the shifts up, or even replacing the TCU with a programmable unit would be great but nothing is available as yet.

The TCU adjusts line pressure based on pedal position, so if you floor it the gearbox will shift as hard as it can, this is much harder with the Transgo obviously. Did Craig do the install? What fluid did you use?

    • Unless you're fortunate enough to buy a newer car, getting an older style plate to match your name/car is difficult because they've already been purchased.  Unlike other countries, personalised plates are locked to the country and not region, so there can't be multiple versions of the same plate but with a different area code.  Hope that helps

    • That's why I said it is a meaningless term. Because there is more than one meaning that people can apply to it. When we said "highflow", that is exactly what we mean, and exactly what is done. In a highflow, they take your housing and machine them out to take bigger wheels, have a better internal profile, etc etc, and fit a new core with the different/better/bigger wheels.
    • Oh sry i do not know if i used the term right. What i meant is upgrade the internals and keep the housing. That is not "hybrid"?
