If your so worried about what's legal & what's not, excessive revs, speed, noise, loss of traction are all illigal, so why not buy a Honda instead?

Make sure it's an Auto Honda Jazz, then buy RAYS extended lug nuts and install bucket seats from a Type-R.. don't forget the tow hooks front and back.. real JDM look & feel.. restecpa

Haha with chrome tail lights and chrome vault 17's...?

Op, they will never make it illigal to sell mods, people will usually mod a car before they register it with CAMs etc. you can't relate it to gun / drug laws because their directly related to safety. A blow off valve is not.

I understand where you're coming from but there are heaps of laws and restrictions in place unrelated to "safety". Like age restrictions on purchasing scratchies and lottery tickets. Age restrictions for viewing movies and tv shows. You have to show ID just to purchase a SIM card, how is that related to safety?

That's a bit naive perhaps.

Scratchies and lottery tickets is gambling. Gambling is restricted to adults, so that children with young, immature, plastic brains do not learn bad habits and become problem gamblers. Same with adult content in movies and TV shows. ID to purchase a SIM card is to try to keep the population under control - it's a matter of being able to police the use of technology that can facilitate crime and terrorism. Sure, they probably go over the top, but the natural tendency of any democracy is to strangulate itself with laws and regulations designed to "protect" the populace from itself, even if they don't really need it.

The very last thing anyone should be doing is advocating restrictions on ANYTHING that doesn't already have it and doesn't need it. Performance modification parts, etc, definitely fall into that category.

You have to show I.D because say for example you make a death threat or bomb threat with the number/sim card, they can trace it back to you.

Similar to if you were a drug dealer, sending text msgs back and forth about you 5kg of cocaine you want to offload, they can track/follow you.

Not related to safety at all..

You do relise that 000 calls can be made from a mobile without a simcard.

And if someone was desperate enough they could use someone else's simcard, its not hard ive lost two mobiles in my time. Or perhaps attempt to use someone else's ID. Again thats not hard considering people lose their wallet's alot.

I purely made this forum to get an understanding as to why something illegal on our streets was significantly available to anyone. Not just those who use it for track purposes. Regardless of weather its safe or unsafe is irrelevant because it still is illegal.

U do realise no one would be stupid enough to call 000 to make a bomb or death threat, which was the example Kane used. He's right not only can sims be used to track calls, texts and phone tapping, it can also be used as a GPS tracker. Many people have been convicted of murder, from the evidence of there phone signal being in the vicinity of the crime scene.

While i c u have a point, at the same time its a good thing its not made illegal because why would we want to make it harder on us. I've always wondered when the speed limit is 110 then why the hell do cars can reach 300km/h, when a $100 speed limiter is all that it would take to enforce that law. It's because cars that reach that speeds will seel more, they make more tax, more jobs at holdens etc and then more revenue from speeding over the limit.

Some things are kind of whack yes but it's a good thing we can stil buy go fast bits, so not actually sure why u brought this topic up , weather u wanted to mod you're own car with a BOV and timer or just spark a heated debate

Where did I mention calling triple zero? I could be referring to making a bomb threat at your local KFC... Any person with half a brain would call their phone company and block their SIM card yeah?

Why is Marijuana so readily available?

Why are guns so easy to buy?

Like I said, worst thread on SAU..

Are you 12?

I thought school had resumed??

    • Price seems pretty good to me. Also seems a hell of a lot cheaper then buying another vehicle that only ever gets used for towing.  I'm a long way from you mate, I'm a couple of hours out of Brizzy.

    • The sodium acetate, mixed with citric acid, doesn't actually buffer each other. Interestingly though, if you used Sodium Acetate, and acetic acid, THAT becomes a buffer solution. Additionally, a weak acid that can attack a metal, is still a weak acid that can attack a metal. If you don't neutralise it, and wash it off, it's going to be able to keep attacking. It works the same way when battery acid dries, get that stuff somewhere, and then it gets wet, and off it goes again breaking things down. There's a reason why people prefer a weak acid, and it's because they want TIME to be able to be on their side. IE, DIY guys are happy to leave some mild steel in vinegar for 24 hours to get mill scale off. However, if you want to do it chemically in industry, you grab the muriatic acid. If you want to do it quicker at home, go for the acetic acid if you don't want muriatic around. At the end of the day, look at the above thumbnail, as it proves what I said in the earlier post, you can clean that fuel tank up all you want with the solution, but the rust that has now been removed was once the metal of the fuel tank. So how thin in spots is your fuel tank getting? If the magazine on the left, is the actual same magazine as on the right, you'll notice it even introduces more holes... Well, rust removal in general actually does that. The fuel tank isn't very thick. So, I'll state again, look to replace the tank, replace the fuel hanger, and pump, work out how the rust and shit is making it past the fuel filter, and getting into the injectors. That is the real problem. If the fuel filter were doing its job, the injectors wouldn't be blocked.
    • Despite having minimal clothing because of the hot weather right now, I did have rubber gloves and safety glasses on just in-case for most of the time. Yes, I was scrubbing with my gloves on before, but brushing with a brush removes the remaining rust. To neutralize, I was thinking distilled water and baking soda, or do you think that would be overkill?
