Hey guys, the time has come for me to part ways with my R32, so it's up for sale !

I originally bought it about 6 years ago (just after it was imported) from Beer Baron here on SAU, I dug up the original for sale thread when it had about 160,000km on it here - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/161469-beer-barons-1990-r32-gtst-type-m-manual. It's been an awesome car to drive all this time and has never let me down, it's farken reliable.

About a year and a half after I bought it the rb20 was feeling a bit to slow so I did a rb25 conversion on it. This along with the mods & remapped ECU it's now an extremely torquey / responsive car, comes onto boost basically straight away and it's great fun to drive. Dyno'd a while back @ 195 rwkw @ 12 psi, plenty of power in a light little r32

Specs:

1990 R32 Skyline Gts-t, type M
5-speed manual gearbox
Rb25det engine conversion (standard turbo & internals)
Approx 210,000km on the clock (the rb25 engine had approx 130,000km on it when installed, would have about 165,000km now)

Remapped Z32 ECU, done by Toshi
Exedy heavy duty clutch
R32 GTR fuel pump
100mm ARC side-mount intercooler

3" turbo intake pipe & Apexi pod filter
Turbotech manual boost controller @ 11psi
3" turbo back exhaust incl Catco highflow cat
KYB shocks & lowered king springs at the front, and damper adjustable Trust shocks & springs at the rear
17" Blitz racing wheels (lightweight) + near new tyres all around. Fronts are 235/40, rears 255/40
Slotted front rotors & QFM brake pads all round
Personal steering wheel
Autometer boost gauge installed in right dash vent
Nismo gear knob
R33 Skyline floor mats
Pioneer CD player, aux input etc etc, JBL rear speakers

Radiator top end tank was replaced + radiator cleaned/flushed about 3 months ago

Boot has been wired for amps + subs so it's all ready to go (i'm moving old sub gear to my new car)

Engine bay was kept very standard looking so cop hassles are kept to a minimum

Has an Autowatch 3 point immobiliser installed

5% tint all round by Hunters Hill window tinting, looks great
There's a few small scratches on the body, nothing serious !

The bad:

Unfortunately the paint on the roof has started to fade, and a year or 2 ago some rust started building around the edge of the sunroof, I didn't take care of it so it's still there. Theres also a spot on each side of the rear wheel arches. See photos !

The gearbox (still using the rb20 box) has also developed a pretty common input shaft bearing (or thrust bearing?) noise/rattle - stops straight away when the clutch is pressed in. It's been like this for maybe 2 years, i've gotten used to it and ya can't really hear it over music + engine/exhaust noises. Not sure if new box oil could help to improve this?

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
