So i was doing some spirited driving list night.. (in actual fact i was seeing what sort of 0-100 times i can do. (Entering the freeway at the on lights officer) ;)

First run was all good. Second i got to the top near the top of 3rd and felt like a fuel or boost cut.. CEL came on.. limp mode engaged.. Just checked the numbers (and cleared them).

Came up with:

P0018 OBD Trouble Code

1 result found

P0018 - Generic Type Powertrain - Fuel and Air Metering - ISO/SAE Controlled Description

Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation

Location Bank 2 Sensor A

Anyone got any experience with this.. I havent tried driving it since i have cleared the code.. I am hoping it will just go away. I am thinking i should drop the boost down a bit too.. currently running LPG, with dump and midpipe replaced, break wire cut, bleed valve with factory controller removed running approx 16psi.. (factory guage reading).

I really hope i aint broken it.. :(

You should have dropped in mate, the generic code descriptions are crap. The consult 3 would have explained it better and allowed direct testing of the sensor. At least the limp mode went away and it wasn't the AFM...

If it's the cam sensor I may have one, but try it out, it can only throw another code and go into limp again...

Bugger. Even after clearing the code next start the cel returned. Attempted to drive it to pickup my kid from his grandma's it still was in limp mode though appeared to be driving ok. Filed it up with gas. Then picked up the kid and then it wouldn't start. Kicks over gets ignition tries to get the revs up to idle about a second and a half then stalls.

f**k.

Had to get the kid home so will have to go have a look tomorrow or Saturday.

Will double check the cel and the hoses and connections though it sounding expensive.

Strange that I managed to start it about 6 times and drove it for 40ks before it died. Only difference I can think of is that it's parked on a angle now. Maybe I'll Jack it up and start it. Really painful cause I didn't get it home.it's on the side of the road.

Suggestions most welcome as always.

Timing belt out? Had a few with that code

"its easy on my C34..."

No timing belt.

Sounds like it might be crank and/or cam angle sensors. Wouldn't be too fussed about the air fuel code considering your running gas

You need the consult 3 unit, and I have the software on my laptop. Would you like me to drop around one night? I can bring the cam sensors, I definitely have one, just not sure on the drivers bank sensor.

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
